(This is reply to a question from another thread, but seemed more appropriate here.)

The BDs will all also include "animated short movies", again with the scripts for these written by the original novel author. (The first one is available on the official site.) As people already know the first volume also included a short (bonus) story written by the novel author as well. Otherwise, the release is much like the first season, with a bonus CD containing the special ending songs for the related episodes, cards with the special ending illustrations, and the other usual features (clear sleeve around a digipak illustrated by the original character designer and an 8-page booklet). Various stores in Japan also have various bonus items if you purchase certain or all the volumes with them (including an artbox, and various other items that depend on the store).

I think they are doing the animated shorts and the drama tracks in place of the animated commentaries this time around. (Which is too bad, because those animated commentaries were fun, but I understand that it's a lot for the main author to write, and particularly in such a way that doesn't spoil the rest of the story now that the novels are done. And also, a lot of the episodes are a bit more serious this season, so may not be quite as suited for that sort of approach.)

You can see the first one on the official site. It's more like an "omake", and is presented sort of in the SD style of the animated commentaries from the first season. It's not animated in the style of the show proper, and the first one didn't animate anything that was in the books. The stuff that was left out from the anime is in the audio dramas.

Yeah, it's a pre-production sculpt that's currently in development/production by Max Factory (shown at the recent WonFes). If all goes well, they should show a painted version and announce availability/pre-orders in time.
