I find myself quite quite disturbed on a psychological level after watching this episode. The visual style was very charming and unique. I thought the show was going to be a slow, slice-of-life story, but boy were my expectations completely tuned upside down.

Yeah ... the talking robotic slice of bread ripping it's head open and gushing dark colored carrot juice everywhere was esp effective in totally blindsiding me. -_-

This is why doing a little background on the shows you're watching is a good thing...

I don't know what kind of background research would prepare me for a bread committing pastricide.

I think he was moreso referring to your expecting the series to be a Slow, s-o-l style storyline.

Yeah, the brief synopsis I've read around the internet sorely does this show an injustice for better or worse.

Which synopsis was that? Anyone who knows Tanaka Romeo at all should have warned you this was coming...

And the great thing is, it only gets more Romeo-ish from here...

This. I didn't know Tanaka Romeo was a name I should be wary of until you mentioned it.

Depends on who you are asking... among "adult" weary circles he is very well known

Of the other two other mentioned, they became only recently popular, because of commercially successful anime they worked on. This of course attracts a lot of hate too, focused on secondary elements of their work

Nonetheless, all of them are vastly less popular than inferior writers that work on kid/hipster-friendly shows, like Okada, Jun, etc

I don't think anything could have prepared me for that except the comment about starvation becoming a new fad. I was shocked and then I started to laugh.

i am assuming Jun is the "Sad Girl in the Snow jun" but i can't place Okada, through the name sound familiar,

I have to admit I was surprised when I learned the writer of the original source material for this show is the same person who wrote VNs Kana Imouto and Yume Miru Kusumi (among several others, but those are the only ones I've played).

Neither of those were really the jolliest of stories, as I recall.

FYI: Crunchyroll has changed its series label to the English translation Humanity Has Declined. So if you go to CR looking for the show, that's the name you should look for now.

These rankings are meaningless, really
theyy are subjective to extreme
It is also better to see their works for yourselves

I have read gen's and romeo's works and they always exceed my expectation
that's all I want
