So because the girl is using a man's style, is that why during the few times she tries to defend herself, she's always a step short like in the first episode, and only hit one by luck or because that one was too slow.

Seeing as how our main got knocked by the ward along with the zombies, maybe he's actually dead as well, or in limbo.

That was just hilarious the way Shāng got the short end of the stick both times, being stuck outside the seal waiting for the song to be done just right, and then again luring out the rock monster and having to deal with it himself.

No wonder he's pissed off by the end of the episode.

yea, i would be more 'uh oh'

but given how at the end of episode 2, arrow dude shot an arrow at him at the end, and its just shooting someone behind him. i don't hold my breathe for cliffhangers lol

it is really hilarious episode. I don't know it was purposeful or not.
and the theory of mc that is zombie who died in wasteland because he is repelled from kekkai tainhi is interesting too.

Reckon a lot of western viewers forgot about his healing manoeuvre back in ep1. It's yet another tricky concept from Wuxia. Now his moveset of "Formless Dull Blade" makes sense, since he's basically using that inner strength to enhance his shitty sword skill. Reminded me of an invincible character from Jinyong's novel who just bruteforces with a massive stick of iron

though after this episode Lin Setsu A is looking more like Chaotic Neutral than outright evil. This Zephyr of Artifice is now behaving more and more like a protagonist than the secret final boss. Glad to finally see his title having a major impact in distorting the group dynamics. Was initially a bit let down in ep5 when Syou Fu Kan showed no reaction, but I forgot that there were two other newbies in the party as well. Now the question being as to why Syuu Un Syou wants to partner up with this phantom thief. Then again Betsu Ten Gai did imply that the 3 recruits are crooked individuals.

What's more fun is that the preview for ep9 was leaked just yesterday, couple with the leaked script from ep0, this development doesn't surprise me.
