Props to the captains for cleaning things up. Oubi did his job nicely. Of course luckily he faced a fool that only saw him as someone powerless and left himself open to be instantly beaten. Though credit where credit is due. He trains like a maniac to make sure he can handle himself.
My condolences to Arthur's group...hopefully they aren't all dead. I'm glad Maki's brother came in handy with deflecting the flame attacks. But having either of these guys arguing in place of Maki herself is just bothersome. Her brother is definitely in the wrong, but neither of them really bothered to listen to Maki in the first place so whatever.

Figured Hinawa was testing Maki, and she passed with flying colors! Really hope she'll get a cool power-up so she'll be able to fight high ranked villains. She has the potential.
Speaking of power-ups, it looks like Tamaki might get one based on the preview!

Tamaki did get her power-up... by playing tag. You'd think it would have unlocked in the life threatening situations she's been in instead. But at least that plot point was addressed, we'll see how useful she is now if they make another season.

I'll take Tamaki improving through whatever method they need to run with. And maybe it was something fitting. To get over her mental weak points she needed to gradually pick up momentum. Life or death basically crushes her right away so there's no time to get there. Regardless we got to dive into her history a bit. At the core of it being her go with the flow way of living. Be it doing what was expected of her or just passively going into the corner when told to.
Hopefully this leads to better moments in situations that actually matter. Let her run into a tough situation again and this time overcome it.

To be fair Tamaki only got her chance to grow because she had that traumatic experience. Without that gut punch she would never have gotten the fortitude to break through the mental block that was keeping her powers from growing and it was the laid back yet surprisingly difficult game that let her overcome her own issues. In found it endearing that she effectively managed to help herself.
Also the show is finally past the point I've read the manga for so I guess I can join in on the discussion again

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the moon has nothing to do with Soul Eater. That moon has always been the author's trademark signature, it's found in every one of his works.
Captain Hague got murdered. If that ain't a sign of how serious shit is gonna get from now on... |
