Wonder what's the point of this tournament and how it will connect with Garo.

She got a cute voice though, was a bit surprised by that. I don't get why people think that being a hero is an easier occupation than being a Martial Arts Fighter. Like come on, Max beating Ring Ring should have been expected. Now with the Monsters doing an all out attack the Hero system shows its lack as in not having enough heroes to deal with this shit. If they'd train instead of select heroes through some exam that means squat given Saitama got Level C despite being the strongest on earth then that system is flawed.
It's not people. It's martial artists.

Martial artists think that being a hero is easier and look down on people that change from being a martial artist to a hero.

There's a bias there.

They really butchered Do-S vs Fubuki. The Genos parts were pretty good so that made up for it a bit.

Tournament's as boring as it was in the manga, but the faster pace of the anime helps.

I felt some familiar voices in this episode but I don't have too much knowledge of Japanese actors. By any chance, the black haired martial artist happen to have a famous voice?

The character, Suiryu, is voiced by Matsukaze Masaya, who has been a Voice Actor for quite a long time. You can look up his list of roles, but here are some that you may recognize.

Ichimoku Ren from Hell Girl
Ren Akatsuki from Fairy Tail
Shane McDougal from Bodacious Space Pirates
Gaelio Bauduin from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans

He has done many roles as a voice actor, but not too many of them are main characters. He has also done some acting.

Also, Sneck is Miki Shinichirou, who IMO is one of the ten greatest seiyuu of all time.

Man, the A pro heroes are not showing a great figure by getting knocked out in one hit. Dude is nearly as OP as Saitama but with martial arts techniques as extra.

Keep in mind any S-class can pull off chumping A-class heroes.

yeah, i'm going to say not quite.. i feel that story-wise, s2 can't hold a candle to s1. couple that with the decline in animation quality and this season is quite a letdown so far.

^ There's not much story in S1. Just "villains randomly appear -> all hells break loose -> Saitama punch them to death -> other heroes & hero association are doing something minor in between". So...there's not much story-candle to hold on to.

^ Might be worth differentiating between "character" story vs "plot" story. You're talking about the latter and I think germanturkey is talking more about the former. I've always felt like One Punch Man is more of a character driven story than a plot driven one personally.

The problem with this season is that it doesn't bring anything new to the table and has a lot less comedy.

Pretty sure that's the same thing with the source, so I don't see any issue with that.

Even if you want to use that term, there's still not much of it in S1. Most of them are random encounters with villainous monsters. Saitama spent most of his screentime reacting to things (which is the highlight of the entire show), while Genos' vendetta was going nowhere in S1. So, the standard for "story" is already low.

That said, I do feel like S2 is really less funny than S1 which is a red flag for me since comedy is half the reason many people watch OPM. What makes it worse is that S2 took the plot more seriously than S1 which can be boring & tiring because OPM is never good at it. I don't really need another tournament-plot but the fights resulted from it is appreciated. All in all, just get on with the action & jokes, OPM!

Yes, it's an issue with the manga too, which doesn't make it any less of an issue with the anime.

I'm satisfied with that fight, although it definitely didn't have the animation budget and the panache of the first season, the core of what makes this series great is still there.. kinda.

Also, Saitama doing a Keijo move was a very pleasant surprise

Forgot to mention that the fight was actually fair, since that wig served as a handicap for Saitama
