Mikako-shi キターーー(゜∀゜)ーーーー!!!!!

I am happy that she gets the main role in one of my favorite toy franchises, after Transformer Gou, which she voices a boy that looks like a boy.

Next, I hope that she will voice someone in Macross

Edit: Hey guys, I finally found my Ultraman/Gundam comparison!

Spoiler:

-Ultra Q/MSG 0079: Primitive entry, first of it's kind, lots of rough patches that need to be ironed out, has not aged well, foreign releases questionable with a specific episode, etc.

-Ultraman/Zeta: Classic, refined, most other entries follow this as the pinnacle example, etc.

-Ultraseven/Double Zeta: Massive tone difference, climatic final battles, early half episodes with notoriety attached to them, etc.

-Ultraman Jack/Victory: Television return, first real updates in the franchise, does little with previous entries of the timeline, similar ending to the "classic" entry, left out by many fans, etc. also my favorite of the original timeline. :P

-Ultraman Ace/G: Over the top violence, first "throughout series" villain that plagues the hero, first entry with a (serious) romance subplot, realism tossed out the window, etc.

-Ultraman Taro/Wing: Fan favorite, many one sided fights, main hero is obnoxiously strong, bad guys have lapses in judgement, etc.

-Ultraman Leo/X: Apocalyptic, alienates audiences at the time while brings one years later, took itself seriously, likeable hero, genuinely evil bad guy, etc.

-Ultraman 80/Turn A: Second TV revival, mystery elements, title hero never loses...... Actually, bad comparison, 80 was actually awesome and did not rely on cheap weapons.

-Ultraman Tiga/SEED: Major rejuvenation of the franchise, not liked by older fans, liked by newer fans, very up to date for it's time, music is praised, etc.

-Ultraman Dyna/Destiny: Most people dislike, mostly fans of the previous entry, title human hero is named Shin Asuka (not kidding), next to nobody liked the ending, etc.; also my favorite of the franchise. :P

-Ultraman Gaia/00: Tries to be different, alienates some fans, tries to be more serious than other entries, deals with traitors, title hero gets incredibly strong upgrade, etc.

-Ultraman Cosmos/Age: Very "childish" to most fans, attempts to have the most episodes of the franchise (if the rumor of Age being 52 eps is correct), poor writing, few likeable bad guys, tries too hard at homages from older entries, canon stories outside the main series referenced, sappy pacifist ending, etc.

If this is true, then Bandai will most likely make a much atypical gundam series or at least similar to Nexus where Japanese fans don't care for it but Western fans love it.

I'm totally digging Maoh!! The Gundam X series was my introduction to Gunpla after all, and I loved the X design so much.

Lol, even Bearguy made it! Hide the lolis!!

But Captain Marika as the hero... my god as if there is not enough crack in this already.

Asides from the previously revealed Gundam A (A heavily modded Gundam Mk.2 with detachable booster like the Build Strike and Zaku Amazing), not really.

I wonder why Gundam X "Maoh" was translated into English as "Archenemy"? Isn’t “Maoh” supposed to be translated as “Demon King” or “Dark Lord”?

I sometimes wonder if this hasn't be pointed out yet but one of the actors on the list for the new series is Yuichi Nakamura who has experience of his own with Graham Aker from Gundam 00 and one of the Jesta pilots from Gundam Unicorn.

You guys area really taking this well...

I did not like the direction (artwise) that AGE took and now they are going even further and reducing gundams to toys. I don't know the story of AGE but I am sure it wasn't about a bunch of kids playing with toys against each other ala Yugioh, beyblade, vanguard and similar series.

This show is definitely taking Cardfight Vanguards business model by making a show SOLELY to push product. If you watch Vanguard (which i am almost caught up with) the story really has no substance and it's mainly about "look at this new card/clan!"

I personally find this lazy, especially since they are rehashing a bunch of mobile suits from other series.

My question now is whether this is a side series or a main series like Seed, 00, wing? If it's a side series then great, i can finally watch some more Gundam. if it's a main series, then it looks like I'm gonna be waiting a couple MORE years for a gundam series that suits my tastes. The last Gundam series i watched was 00.

They were certainly running out of directions to push Gundam, so last season we had a bit of era-type story with a hint of super robot, and this season we go into the product territory. This initially was a pilot OVA called Gundam Beginnings, and I least expected them to turn it into a mainstream show.

Good thing then, I'm sure after this we'll return to our regular programming... unless we get into Magical Girl Gundams.

Oh and btw, Gundam has gone to pretty strange places before. As it stands, Blaster Mari remains the weird Gundam subtype that hasn't been animated yet.

The other weird version is a ninja centric AU that has Bio Gundam in it.

I'd love to see these get animated, or something to that effect become animated. XD

It's on the same network that broadcasted the SD Gundam shows... Plus we already know that we have two "hardcore" Gundam related shows coming up. So take that as you will.

But there's nothing wrong with a concept like this one. Some people like Gundam stories but the franchise has always been about the mobile suits, not to mention the stories are getting repetitive anyway, so lets strip away the fluff and take in the core.

Actually, as far as war-with-aliens goes, Gundam 00 movie is still closer to your usual Gundam storylines. At least that movie doesn’t have kids fight with their Gunplas

A bit suprised to know, by the way, that the second protagonist of the series (Reiji) will be also voiced by a female (I was so sure it would be a male seiyuu)

Sachi's doing a fine job voicing Subaru in the "Cross Fight B-Daman" franchise, so I'm curious to hear how she'll voice Reiji (especially since it's quite a different character (personality-wise) from the current character she voices in the "Cross Fight B-Daman" franchise)

Can't wait for the series overall...
