Maybe, they're GUNDAM series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, or the like

I'm quite pleased there IS a Theme song by the Tsubasa's Voice Actress, it may be used in the future episodes

Eva and the two Gundam SEED series come to mind, also it's still 8,000 copies behind Macross Frontier Vol 1.

I think one of the main selling points of the discs is that you also get what are basically new short stories from Nishio Isshin as well. And these, unlike that novels, aren't being told from from Koyomi's point of view.

It seems so. Hanekawa will "host" all the commentaries and the heroine of each arc is the guest. I'm not sure how Tsubasa Cat will work though.

Maybe she will host Koyomi... I can't see Kamiya out of this (and with 5 episode and two volume there's a lot of room for others... only 2 episode for Hitagi is probably not good enough).

The problem with having Kamiya is that we are already seeing the story through Koyomi's point of view for the series so there isn't really much that he can add to it. The commentaries are mainly about what the other characters are thinking and feeling while they interact with Koyomi.

Could be Senjougahara again. She is the female lead, so having only two episodes is weird. Plus, she seems pretty important to that arc, if episode 12 is any indication.

Haha of course and thanks! Well that was pretty obvious lol (I forgot about them). I am watching Macross Frontier now, I can see why it has and continues to sell well. But that discussion is for a different topic altogether.

I fully agree with you that Bakemonogatari is deserved to be the Best of 2009. It's been a long time that I feel enjoy this much watching anime.

Lol, two types of Tsundere, sort of ironic.

ever since ive seen this series ive always had this view that Senjougahara was the most realistic type of Tsundere i have ever seen.

plus the interaction between the characters is the best i have ever seen in an anime. for some reason i when ever i watch it i constantly think of movies due to the shows witty dialogue and hilarious antics of the characters.

Last year, from my personal taste, it was Toradora. No specific character all of them were great, especially Sumire. Loved that fight between Sumire and Palmtop Taiga.... wonderful intensity and surprising reveal about how Sumire actually loved the idiot exhibitionist.

This year, is undoubtledly BAKEMONOGATARI

I thought it would have been Phantom Requiem for the Phantom... but not to be.

Then there was Darker Than Black Season 2.... nope... not blowing out BAKEMONOGATARI fire at all.

This one is going to be purchased and archived along with my GHOST IN THE SHELL DVD's

i will second this. havent enjoyed DTB2 nearly as much as i am enjoying Bakemonogatari. and now i think Toragora is just a skidmark on the pants of Bakemonogatari.

I'm not sure if it will be licensed in US though. <_<

No SHAFT anime since Negima was licensed in the US. This includes Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei, Hidamari Sketch, ef tale of memories/melodies, Maria Holic and Natsu no Arashi.

No idea why SZS and ef is still not licensed considering the popularity of it. Hoping Bakemonogatari doesn't get the same treatment.

It's kind of hellish to translate, for one thing. They have really fast-paced dialog filled with on screen text, etc. Furthermore, at least SZS and Bake are also filled with and rely on Japanese puns for a lot of their dialog, up to and including the plot.
