I have seen videos of the "masaka" audio playing (but there's no visual change!). The effect is not proven yet as far as I know since it's still RNG lottery. Also, it seems that the requirements are still unclear and there are also speculations that for those who cleared E5 prior to the emergency maintenance (like me) it won't trigger until you visit E5 again or so.

I just need to ask, has anyone here tried the debuff runs on E6, because if so, is Akitsumaru absolutely necessary for those debuff runs?

You mean for routing? No it isn't. The only thing I'd consider necessary is a FBB in the second fleet when going for L. Having a FBB increases the odds of going to L by a lot.

Addendum: Wow, I am NOT getting results with my Landbased airstrikes, as Lycoris Hime keeps on nuking my airbases. Seriously, it's either Taiha, or orange.

As a result, I'm getting single digit hits on her. When they hit anyway.

And I can already see why people call it hellish, as the escorts WILL survive, making targetting Lycoris a massive numbers game.

Finished E1 up to E3 on all hard thus far. Waste probably somewhere around 30k fuel and ammo. I can only play on weekends and I had not stockpiled at all so I'm now running on 8k fuel and 6k ammo. Gonna try and regen as I wait for more info on how to tackle the rest of the maps on hard.

I don't want to shoot down your hopes, but I definitely advise you against the idea of proceeding in 甲 unless you rely on uncanny luck.
This is even more true if your bauxite level is on par with your fuel and ammo: you won't last more than 20 runs, regen included.

CTF is better due to routing and number of battles.. btw what difficulty you are doing?

My bauxite sits at a borderline 34k my steel is pretty crazy at 110k compared to everything else. My bucket count is screwed at 480ish and I started the event at 650 buckets. I guess I'm just aiming too high?

Yes you are. At E7 甲 right now I'm losing nearly 1000 bauxite per run.

It depends of your fleet status, resource management, expedition management, time and sanity.
Whilst it isn't impossible, your resources are just a huge red flag in my books. Bauxite is the floodgate this time as you absolutely need that for running LBA raids, and E7 boss was designed with that in mind. Having any less than 70k for E7甲 is suicide.

Here's to hoping medium is merciful enough for me not to go easy then.

EDIT: I'm pretty much horrible at decision making and resource management. As of now I think the worst part of my situation is that I can only play on the weekends. I can't even properly stockpile as the event goes on. The best I can do is wait for more information and pray I'm doing things right.

Have more than enough resources, but switching to easy for extra operations for my sanity's sake

Finally finished E5 easy. Only one sortie reaching the boss for the whole day, even with both supports running. Was wondering why since it should've been one more before the final dance, but it turns out, it was the final dance. RNG was merciful and all the ships decided to hit the boss instead of the remaining Ru-class. Got an A that battle, but finished the map, *phew*

I did E1 - E4 on hard - 1/3 e5 on Hard and then toned down to medium as I was running out of Bauxite and ever since then decided to go easy. Well even if I would want to do normal again I can't because I already used my top ships in e5 now.
