So you're clearly an Erina fanboy. Erina wasn't meant to be a heroine. They turned her into one because Megumi pretty much outlived her usefulness and the other characters aren't interesting enough to do much with.

Since ever, it has seemed to me Erina was the heroine-to-be, but was put in the sidelines at first since Souma was still taking his first steps in Tootsuki.

Reading back to the one-shot and the very first chapter, she really was meant to. You may call me fanboy, but it won't change the fact her hidden depths had been meticulously hinted at many times, the built-up was there.

Thinking deep about it, the theme of this manga is about a boy that meets a girl. Cooking is what drives the plot.

Meh at the end of the day i'm just disgusted because despite everything the two of them have never fight like a couple because Soma is the definition of a herbivore MC. The guy could have Body sushi lined up and he'd leave the girl naked after finishing the food

There can be twists. But yeah, it does seem unlikely here because Souma will be expelled if he loses and Erina would have to go back to her Edgelord father.

practically impossible for any twist here, Azami sit on the judge seat seal the deal. The whole problem from the start was The rebel wins and Erina proved herself that she overcame her father shadow. And now this is probably the only chance that Erina got on full judging dealing with Azami, especially consider how Azami just noted that Souma dish won't mesh well with Erina. The whole deal is sealed

You'd get a bigger twist if the author decides to let Tosh take over beyond 100% for the final foodgasm of the arc and decide to show the girls' foodgasm to include nipples.
