Back on topic: I doubt we’ll see the final verdict in the coming chapter. Reckon this’ll only be about how shocked azami is, and perhaps a hint of flashback of how he fared after jouichiro left totsuki. After the flashback, then perhaps the final result (we all know what it’ll be, don’t we?) will be announced.

I agree. It's highly likely we'll get an Azami flashback before the results. He's obviously going to get reformed, so first they need to show us how he became this edgy in the first place. We know Jouichirou leaving Toutsuki played a part, but I believe there were other factors. Like the (presumed) death of his wife.

true, the way he planned to take over tootsuki so that he can change gourmet world by married into nakiri seems well arranged, if not for senzaemon had found him tortured erina, perhaps his plan would run smoothly. so i could say, not only his daughter, his wife too, he sees them as tool for his own ambition. making him the way he is now as a reason due to his wife's death looks unacceptable.

maybe exactly because she "died" he could ended turning like that, like he lost his "best friend" souma father them the person which he love and was "cooking for" as souma dad was too, losing her could be the last trigger to turn him on that currently scum.

Jeez what's with this 180? A while back we wanted Azami to burn and die because of fucking over the series making it horribly bad, now we're looking for a reason for his being an asshole just to sympathize with him? I miss the days where we just hated on a character just because.

Don't include me. I am still hoping that Azami lost everything in this death match and became a street beggar with Tsukasa while 2 WGO sluts laugh at both of them, only to get bitchslapped by Asura.

P.S. Still holding the hope that Azami was the one who caused his wife's death, whether it was directly or indirectly.

From what I’ve seen until now, azami doesn’t seem the type that ‘loves’. That said, I doubt he actually cared for his wife (their relationship/marriage was purely political). Chances are she died giving birth to erina. I doubt she’s still alive as neither Ernie nor her granddad never so much as mention her.
