Why? Misa and Hikaru are legends in their own way. even though they where part of the 'main triangle' i honestly don't think they have very good story material, unlike the Jenius couple. But then again, i might be biased
But still, with their fate being a bit shrouded in mystery kind of adds up to their status as legends of the first Macross war. |

A part of the answer might be there about Hikaru as you said, but I still think that the best thing would be an encounter with the Megaroad-1 survivors if any. At least, I would like to know about the descendants. |

But hey lets wait and see, if not then the next series. Hopefully the next Macross series would have the original Supervision Army. Imagine going up against a pre-Macross gunships. |

I'd prefer if Megaroad-01 and all involved were to remain unexplored. It's nice to see a universe where there are continued mysteries that remain as mysteries, and the creators aren't in a rush to explain everything. This is the kind of storytelling that fleshes out a fictional universe and give it more of an organic feel.
I also think that the idea of closing a particular chapter and not going back to it is a good one from a creative standpoint - respecting the loss of Hase Arhiro just adds further incentive to not go back to this well again.

Seriously, there are some memories that are better left undefiled. Besides, it's not like they're running out of space and star systems to explore, or enemies for that matter, given that the Protoculture's fall leaves a whole bunch of possibilities for future developments. The Vajra are one such example, especially with how Kawamori's tying Zero into the timeline. |

Exactly. The less we know about Megaroad 1 in the future, the better. Let Macross end on a good note, such is a fitting end to a wonderful franchise.
Although there is one thing Mr. Kawamori can do... REMAKE DO YOU REMEMBER LOVE WITH MODERN UPDATES! I also wouldn't mind if Kawamori redo the VF-1 Valkyries to resemble the VF-0 Phoenix. - Tak |

After all, this is 2008, and since Macross is set in 2010+/-, a 2008 look might be a vast improvement over its 80s fashion in the 21st century - Tak |

While I won't classify this as a blasphemous idea, I'm curious as to why you think that Macross would follow in UC Gundam's footsteps. After all, both franchises are almost the same age, but Macross has shown no signs of doing so. And for that matter, Kawamori (being an executive at Satelight) has way more control over animated Macross works than Tomino ever had, and his ideas are in a different direction from that of older works.
