Oh. My. God.
KyoAni did it again. They freaking did it again. I want to say that this episode did for Kanon 06 what the Live A Live episode did for SHnY, in making me go speechless by it's conclusion, and giving me even more reason to watch this series. The dance sequence artfully animated and just brought to life in the way only KyoAni knows how. Mai's blushes and vulnerability; mirroring Haruhi's change that became apparent after Live A Live (besides screaming Moe). And the way it all descended into utter Chaos; delivered in all its breathtaking animation glory - matchless. Kudos, KyoAni. Kudos to you all. I can't say anymore. |

This episode is fantastic.
When it comes to personality and style, Yuichi is the closest anime equivalent to Bruce Wayne (not Batman, just Bruce Wayne) that I've seen since Roger Smith (Big O). Yuichi is impeccably smooth and surefooted, and it really shows in this episode. He has a real way with the ladies, too. I like how he's very earnest and sociable, and knows how to really get things done. Mai, of course, was beautiful in her dress, and the entire dance segment was spectacularly well done. The ensuing chaos, and the action that came with it, and the cliffhanger ending... all executed exquisitely.

Though Kanon's Student president is apparently more stupid than the one Tomoyo replaced in Clannad . Serious how can he blame Mai for breaking everything, I mean clearly she magically broke all the windows that are at least 10 feet off the ground, right?

Ah yes, the episode with the ever so random head chop.
But to TBH , I was spoilered a bit; I think I saw a clip on youtube of it and was instantly sold and decided to watch the series for real (I could never make it past the first episode at first) But I did say beforehand that if I ever did watch the series, it'd be because of that mysterious silent character that intrigued me. TL;DR I'm a huge Mai fanboy and won't shut up.

Hmm.. after good bit of thinking I am still stumped by this too, I'd say this plot whole is solved somehow by Mai's power, or Mai really plans a head lot so that she keeps the sword hidden somewhere nearby so she can get it if needed, or maybe she actually has several swords stored hidden away around campus for emergency use?
