Is it true that there will be a fourth season to Attack on Titan?
I'm asking this due to the following tweet posted by Japanese fans of the series asking the question to Tetsuro Araki. I'm leaving the link to the tweet below. https://twitter.com/aottt5478/status...06310128164865 |

That's another cour, but it is still considered as part of Season 3.
I'd argue it is best to wait for an official announcement from the anime account than reports like that.

By this point, I'm pretty sure they're going to animate the entire manga. We're already at the fifth cour (S1 - 2-cour, S2 - 1-cour, S3 - split-cour) and if I were to make an educated guess, the anime's gonna stop at chapter 90 as that's the best possible and most sensible point to end the season at.
After all, we're currently in the penultimate or we could already be in the final arc of the manga. So what's stopping them from doing one last season to properly conclude this story? The real question we should be asking is whether this (almost-certain) final season would be a 1-cour, 2-cour or split-cour? The answer to that depends on how long Isayama decides to drag things out for. Considering where we're at right now, if I were to give a rough estimate, I'd say we'd need about 20~30 more chapters to tie up loose ends, finalize character developments and it goes without saying that the story needs to be concluded in a satisfying manner.
