just saw the subs verson and it raises a few questions about the future yet to come...wht happens???
from adult mikuru it seems that something has happened in the future that has probably killed off most of the chara (or so to speak)...snow white? wht is that about? and its also wierd how adult mikuru seems to see the club room as something that she hasent seen for a long time...her cosplay outfit etc...

with that sed i still believe that this eps deserves more than 10...maybe the scale can be increased to 100? the fight scene never gets old how many time you see it

A subtle observation -- Koizumi comes in at the end of the day saying that he has to go to do "work". Now.. spoiler for those who've read the first novel:

I think this "work" of course means that he has to go slay a blue giant, which, of course, has been caused by Haruhi's jealousy of Mikuru because of the pictures affair

That's a nice logical stringing, IMO. However, it might not fit with the fact that Ryouko still attempts to stab our little Kyon bear.

I think while the anime preserved most of the novel very well in general, they did do some little tweaks and this was one of them. Or perhaps the novel translation missed that bit of subtlety, as well? For example, some of the future chapters translated has Kyon referring to Haruhi as "bitch" while I personally would have gone with "damned woman" (e.g. "Haruhi, that damned woman!!")... So we don't really know, I guess.

You know that we don't know all the time whether Kyon is actually speaking or thinking in his mind. And sometimes he actually blurts out something in his mind, accidentally or purposely.

Kyon was talking to himself about Haruhi and Haruhi heard him say something.

So,

Kyon: "*mumbling*"

Haruhi: "What's that?"

Kyon: "Nothing."

Amazing, it finally happened. From depressed Haruhi to some amazing action of Asakura vs Nagato, followed by a stunning slightly older Asahina to the revived Haruhi dragging along Kyon, this episode actually wowed me.

I tend to grade conservatively so that the occasional 9 or 10 actually means something, and this episode made enough of an impression to reward it with a 10. Guess the people that want to grade this higher than usual feel a little silly now for giving out 10's too easily eh?

As for some of the discussion going on... I don't think anything will happen between Kyon and Asahina either. She even told him not to get too close to her, although from her look before her hug it seems she would have liked to. About the Snow White reference, when watching the episode I didn't have a clue yet what it could mean. But after seeing it mentioned again here I think I have an idea what will happen.

Its really hard to think how kyoani is going to do to produce a better episode than this. The only thing I can do now is give more 10s for better future episodes.

7/10 for Yuki, and Yuki. I would give a 10/10 just for her, but I had to split between the awesomeness of the episode.

2/10 for Older Mikuru's Sexy Appael. Ohhh, bouncy boobs. Bouncy.

1/10 for best animation quality ever.

... remember Itsuki asked Kyon what he had to do to get out of the situation with Haruhi in closed space. Kyon siad he didn't want to talk about it. Now I'm not putting this in spoilers cause Its not confirmed its speculation but it means Kyon will have to kiss Haruhi, like in snow white how the prince had to kiss the princess. This explains his relcutance to tell Itsuki about it becuase he is a little bit embarresed about it being as how he is a tad bit embarrsed about having to do that.
