The sample sizes are pretty similar to last year's with slight increases, particularly Collabs which have 11 more people (IIRC). I will get the physical copy eventually but earliest availability in my local bookstore would be either Friday or Saturday. |

BTW, without Collaborator vote...(HP + Monitor Only):
1. Toaru 2. SAO 3. Oregairu 4. DRRR 5. Oreimo 6. Haganai 7. BakaTest 8. Maou-sama 9. AW 10. DAL Surprised that Retto-sei is not going anywhere even if it's popularity alone. On the other hand, though, you have 8 and 10 being up there only b/c of anime... But as usual, the "popularity" alone list consist of series that are fairly well known (and got an anime series), throw in collaborator vote and you have a bunch of series that no one heard of (Not saying they're bad...) in Top 10... On the other hand, though, Oregairu (Hamachi) scores well again in both HP voting (General Public) and among collaborators. The #1 is well deserved.

More like, why would they vote for popular titles since regular voters are already massively voting for them?
Outside of the fact that most popular titles don't deserve to rank in the top 10 of a poll aiming to designate "sugoi" titles ImO, if the voters from the industry wants to counterbalance the popularity vote, they NEED to avoid voting for the most popularity titles. Especially when those titles have been in the top 5 for years... On top of the risk of transforming those rankings in a simple popularity poll, there's the risk of making it boring by having always the sames titles on top years after years. Quote:

^Casuistic way of dealing with ambiguity, in essence smartass overgeneral reasoning.
I am of the opinion that, this is just plain dirty politics by rival authors or companies.

But I suppose you have a point, looking back at last year's, they only had 9 points from the Monitors so its an overall improvement

....Mikoto has almost 3 times the votes of Yukino? Isn't that worse than the trashing she gave Asuna last year ?
Likewise what happened to Kirito and his 'untouchable' popularity from before ?

A bit late to the party but...
Congrats to Oregairu for taking first place; it was well deserved. Quite happy that Index performed rather well this year. It is certainly the most stable series in terms of popularity in the top 10 in recent years. It didnt even get any collab votes and it still got third; quite an achievement. Other things of note: Spoiler for Personal Comments:
Last but not least: I'm ecstatic that Index was voted best LN series of the last 10 years. But that almost seems like a controversial choice. I'm happy becuase its my favourite LN series. Which begs the question: How did they decide the rankings for the Best of 10 years list? Was it similar to either the best LNs list or the character popularity and best illustrator lists? Who was the one who decided on this list? What method used to determine them?

Index (series) have some very strong staying power, whether or not it's number one I don't want to get into it but--
best of 10 years *1. Toaru majutsu no index *2. Bungaku shoujo *3. Baka to test to shoukanjuu *4. Kino no tabi: The beautiful world *5. Sword art online *6. Suzumiya haruhi no yuuutsu *7. Ben-to *8. Shakugan no shana *9. Full metal panic! 10. Ookami to koushinryou I can say that out of all these, the only one that I'm surprised at was Ben-to. I never really got the impression that it grew that big. I thought Toradora would be on it for sure.... Or Monogatari.... Or Baccano, seeing as how people never stop asking for them. P.S - Also, Index (Character) was in [Road to Endymion]

Well that explains a lot. Of course Index would come out on top then with its consistent poularity and Ranking in the top 15 for the past 8 years, top 10 for the last 6, and top 3 for the last 4. But it cant have been that simple. The order still looks a bit wonky considering aggregates or averages.
