(L) Tokyo Ghoul [Anticipation]

The episode seemed a little too uncomfortable for me to watch. It's not just me who feels that way, even Kaneki, the MC from the series, did as well. Visual wise, it was great: the backgrounds are lush and detailed, the character designs are neat though I preferred them to be designed a little more childish, the color palette looked like these from Wizard Barristers and the fighting scenes are well-done in terms of animation. Unfortunately, the story is questionable: the ghoul theme and other supernatural elements are fine, it's too bad that they overdo the gore that shouldn't have crossed the line. Even the directing puts the viewer into being stuck in a horrible reality that was bound by muddiness and terror. The opening theme by TK was good on the other hand and the music kind of fit it. Might continue watching it, I really hope Pierrot tone the gore a little down onwards.
