^other long running manga have long list of characters but unlike those Soeachi has spoiled us with incredible number of memorable characters so I would be a bit sad if we don't get to see a majority of them in the final chapter but you are right on the part that Gintama cast is ridiculously large so we may not get to see them all. :,)

Maybe we will get epilogue chapters after the final lesson, kinda like with Beelzebub

It seems weird they'd make a dedicated app for just three chapters too. Maybe the last lesson will wrap up the arc and then we'll enter epilogue chapters.

Ah, but the app contains much more stuff. Including coloured chapters, character bios and many other cool stuff besides the tv episodes and the manga chapters up until now.

It ended but oh boy.... for a second it felt like a parody of Gantz's ending.

well it's over, I wanted a little more for the ending but it ended great and I have a smile on my face, going to miss this so much.

The ending was both a let down and appropriate. A let down because no "Final fantasy" and the status quo was kept completely unchanged (Hasegawa even went back to being homeless, WTF? Let the man go back to his wife), and it was appropriate precisely because it felt like just another Gintama chapter.

I guess it was true he didn't have an ending in mind so he just stuck to doing what he did best. "The end" being written all over the final page was pretty funny. He was afraid people wouldn't believe it

The weirdest thing is that Sorachi actually wrote once a finale. The second movie acted like a nice ending but without showing us every single character in contrast to Silver Soul arc. Guess this time, he wanted to avoid this. I mean, even Kagura and Shinpachi looked like they lost age in the manga considering their clothing and hair. Gintoki looking the same makes sense since he is already on his late 20s.

Hijikata breaking out of his tombstone had me in tears, as it did all the 4th wall breaking. Actually, screw that, they didn't break the 4th wall, they demolished it completely.

I really wished at least Hasegawa got a job, his family back and can hug his child again... like I was looking forward to him tossing his sunglasses aside and doing a real cool job with lots of prestige, just to fuck it up somehow like by letting out a massive fart during a meeting or whatever. XD
I never watched the 2nd Gintama movie so I dunno what kinda ending that one got to compare it to the one we got in the manga series.

The fact it's over hasn't fully hit me yet. I don't think I'll ever love another long running manga as much as this one. At least we still have the last season of the anime to look forward to.

I'm actually glad we avoided Final Fantasy ed, it wouldnt fit Gintama at all, this was the best ending a series like this could get, a lot of arcs and threads got ended but at the same time are left with an open door, will seriously miss this one, I only started it about 5-6 years ago but in hat time ir became one of my favorite series.

Wouldnt put it past Gorilla to come up with some extra chapters in the last volume or later on

Looking forward to the next anime season and whatever Sorachi comes up next

A perfect ending Gintama style,
I love how everyone want to have their own version of "ending" haha
and the last part got me there... I really thought it a world of future... damn Sorachi trolled us until the very last page

lol at the last ending being everyone turning into Madao.

I think saying there will never be another manga this great is a little overdone it. I mean, goriilla can make a new series after all.

Though does anyone knew if gorilla planned the next series when ???

I think its fair to say Gorilla will take a well deserved break, like Kubo and Kishimoto, before considering doing another series.
