So, The MC is called Kakeru and is love interest Ririko. What are the names of the Kouki-like clone, the ex-manager soon-to-be-slave and the other girl with the wand?

I just feel like there is a huge lack of karma here. Aine makes sense given Kizunas blatant love for her, and Gravel was part of a different country. But Kizuna could have shredded the rest of Vatlantis, civilians and all, and never lost the moral high ground. At the very least Ataraxia should have taken over Vatlantis, rather than allying with them because Nayuta screwed them like the idiots they were.

valantis is complicated in that they are just as much pawns of the mechanical gods as lemuria is. the author essentially shifted blame for most (not all as valantis still made their choices) of the fucked up shit that happened to them.

at some point there has to be an irredeemable villain or an antihero who dies in the crossfire.

Okay, but Vatlantis still massacred billions of innocents before Kizuna happened, and no one even hints at the possibility of vengenance.

The part where Aine says she'll make peace and just wants a little help from Lemuria nearly made me gag (admittedly Kizuna reacted the same way) since she's basically saying Lemuria should just obediently be blood bags for the demons that slaughtered them.

I feel the writer really missed a couple of good opportunities here. He should have had the girls left behind escape and join the other nations oppressed by Vatlantis. It would have given a much better And more sympathetic view of the AU than the whole idol thing.

And the big fight between Kizuna and Aine should have been the result of Lemuria attacking (successfully) and driving Vatlantis into a corner. Not Kizuna saying he was wrong for not accepting her creepy ass proposal.

I agree but even the whole mechanical gods plot invalidates the weight of this conflict. They can literally remake history.

The political power in Vatlantis was concentrated within Grace's hands (since she was rather brutal to those who disagreed with her), so Kizuna laying waste to the capital would have been a mass murder of innocents. I don't see how he could keep the moral high ground after that. The decision to invade Lemuria and the responsability for it was entirely on Grace's shoulders.
And he could harldy kill her without opening a big can of worms with Aine.

The entire population of Vatlantis is less than a thousandth of the people killed by the initial assault. Ataraxia could literally commit genocide and Vatlantis would still be guilty party. Not to mention that Grace wasn't in charge during the initial assault, her parents and the ruling class were.

I can't imagine whoever was acting as heads of state for the remnants of Lemuria or even the civilian population reacting to news that the AU had been burned to the ground with anything but utter relief and joy.

And the general attitude of those innocents you mentioned towards Lemuria pre-Amaterasu was "stop being selfish and be our power source already". Which terminates any sympathy from me.

Ironically this "stop being selfish and be our power source already" was the only method to save both worlds.

If our world was in the verge of collapsing i doubt we wouldn't do the same as them it's too easy to blame others, people should stop looking at only one side like some hero(lol) and see the big picture instead , i only have this to say about this matter.

Except that....

a) our world was only in danger because of the Entrances and we could have saved ourselves by shutting them down and letting Atlantis die

b) Our world was only ever in danger because they attacked us

c) If they had peacefully asked for help instead of butchering billions of people there would have been exponentially more magic power available

d) The magic power ended up being pointless anyway as Kizuna was able to repair Genesis and power it back up with only Atlanteans


They may have been backed into a corner and without options when they started that power plant thing, but the problem is that they never even tried to take a peaceful solution. The closest they got was mind control.
