GODDAMNIT. I can't even get to node A. I'm on sortie 30 right now, and I've only S-Ranked it once.

5 or more (F)BB(B) + CV(B) will lead you to additional nodes of E and F. So, you should keep the number to 4 (CVLs are not counted to this number). And with Tsu-class cruisers being everywhere, your CVs will lose a lot of bombers by the time they reach node A.

Hence I went with a CAV 2FBB 2CVB fast CVL + CL Teruzuki DD CA CAV CLT fleet. I find the extra FBB provides more punch than a CV. The CAVs carry double chevron seaplane fighters to meet the AS requirement. I also used the support expedition (node A is not a boss node) and send all LBAS strikes to node A.

Once the 3 S ranks is done, getting the 2 perfect interception is much more easier. Just put all to air defense and just run B-C-E since at hard, the air raid will appear very early on. To cut down on cost, equip more fighters to get AS+ and OASW on the DDs and CL.

The problem is I simply have no more CVLs, unless I go and use Ryuuhou. They've all been tagged for the previous maps.

EDIT: Gonna have to drop one of the CVs then, and see if that does it.

Do you have Akitsumaru? You can use her to load fighters to try to achieve the AS requirement. She's a slow ship so you will have to go through node E but you will at least avoid node F.

Edit: Or if you have some seaplane fighters, you can use a CAV as a mule.

I didn't have any fast CVL left, but the route to A node with just 2CV was okay. If it is getting too hard to get there in one piece, just send a base to node G, then the other base to node A.

Actually now that the event proper is over for me, has anyone figured out farming fleet configs? Or am I just universally screwed by deciding to plow through everything on Hard because I didn't have much free time this season?

Phew, Asakaze and Yamakaze dropped. That concludes all that this event has to offer. A dup pudding did drop for me but since I don't have the space, I used her as modernization fodder, I always find it a waste to dispose of these rare ships

Farming is pretty easy. Asakaze on E5, Yamakaze on E2.

E5 is a joke as long you have at least 2 of the 3 B-atoll girls. It is actually farmable unlike E4 (even without its LD form) as chances you have to retreat are vastly lower in E5 than in E4 (regardless if it is the TP route or the boss route).
It isn't exactly cheap, but it is vastly less hazardous.

Yes I am. As Klash's said, E5 is a joke compared to E4. Of course it's an expensive thing to do, which you have a problem with since you got only like 30k fuel by now. But use the nukers (I cleared E5 using a fast and light fleet without Nagato without problem), boss support, put one LBA squadron on the boss node, the other against the air nodes and it's pretty much farmable. Moreover, you only need an A-rank for Asakaze.

I would be hard pressed to say which CA should get K2; Aoba, Takao and Atago's artist are inactice, Prinz is already powerful the 2 Italian remain but they are kind of recent. And what if it was one of the Mogami-class?
