This is really a sad chapter for Kanda and Alma part.T_T it seems like Alma is really dead because he/she(can't differentiate Alma's identity anymore) didn't response to Kanda in pg 28/29.T_T

One good laugh for me is that Allen caught the Earl to reach the top.xD Eat that Earl->by Allen.:P
Also, notice that the Ark Gate doesn't have any number. So the Earl and others really can't find them.

Oh man, this whole arc, and the last 2-3 has been one big messy Cesspool

The only time I've truely sat up to pay attention was the naming of the 14th Noah That said I totally didn't see the revelation of who Alma's soul was coming, but after that settled up I then realized how creepy the entire thing was It's like a bad soap Opera.

So at the end of it all, what just happened ? Are they both dead?

Apparently the whole event was just the a troll of an event for revenge on Skin Boric, while trying to get Allen at the same time. Now that one failed and the other succeeded ( kinda ), who knows what the Earl will do. Most likely just retreat.

Alma is entirely Dark Matter goo now while Kanda's used up all of his regenerative power, so he's in shambles.

In the worst case scenario, they get a lover's tragic death together and in the best case, Alma's dark matter and soul will merge with Kanda broken body to restore him and be one with him forever.

Even putting aside the extremely blatant Alma/Kanda stuff ( I know some yaoi series that actually uses the whole girl's soul in a boy's body crack ), for the Beansprout side there's also that last scene where Kanda affectionately thanked Allen by his name. That was the first time, right, that Kanda said out his name to him? "...Allen Walker."

Yeah it is, and i'm still in complete shock about it.

I'm gonna go with saying this is the last time we'll see Kanda, at least in the form we're used to seeing anyway. Can't see him being gone forever though, because Hoshino would lose so many readers that way.

Loved this chapter though. This is the D.Gray-man that i've missed.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm hoping Kanda had passed away instead of returning 50 chaps down the road or something. It was a rather good end to Kanda plus it would show that the Hoshino isn't afraid of to kill off characters.

Maahh~ There's plenty to of stuff to go around for the remaining main characters, Lenalee has the issue with her unique Innocence, though I'm not sure how much more they could develop on it except make it the Heart... Oh, there's still that dream of her about the end of the world...

Anyway, I don't like the rather hectic pacing of since it started this Alma arc, hopeful with this over, thing would go back to normal.

P.S - And if she wants to introduce more Exorcists, having more female characters as likable as Lenalee doesn't hurt...

Well Kanda isn't really killed off, but yeah i get what you mean.

Is it just me or do all the male characters look identical now in terms of characteristics? I mean, Allen used to be drawn very differently from Kanda, but in recent chapters I'm having a lot of trouble telling them all apart, especially since they're all half naked too.

I couldn't let myself to pass this chance to review the recent chapter.

It was simply gorgeous how Hoshino-sensei delivered a powerful conclusion for both Kanda and Alma with a happy tone, having Allen to watch over them and making sure that both sides wouldn't interfere with the last departure for those two tragic souls.

This bittersweet climax-conclusion to the current arc evoked within me the same feelings I held dear at the conclusion to the "Ghost of Mateel Arc", at the very beginning of the story.

I think that Hoshino-sensei left out the window open as to Alma and Kanda's last whereabouts. I don't believe they're dead, but at the same time I don't think they'll return, in a long while.
Allen sent them both to a better place, or so I hope to somewhere where the Noah can't reach them, since the Order practically has been incapacitated for the time being in the technological means.
