In Zashiki, the two were already in love. It honestly felt a little sudden and shoehorned. Waltraute had the main couple as the premise, but then never revisited their romance again. In both cases, there's very little sense of progress as you'd see in a typical romcom. There's just a beginning - whoosh! - end.

Ok about Waultrate, but there was nothing sudden about ZW. It took literaly 10 volumes to get there and at least half of them were major mile stones of sort (don't ask me which as I would probably mix several together trying remember)
