First, I think that alot of the Suzaku hate stems from the desire of many to see him join Lelouch, which probably will never happen. It would have been way too predictable and cheap. Even so, since he didn't, he's on the side of "the bad guys". Then of course there's my major beef with him, that he's growing increasingly and frustratingly irrelevant. Those are some reasons why many people dislike him. It's much easier to forgive and accept the "bad guy" who's on your side than it is the "bad guy" who stands against you. And for me personally, I see a character who had alot of potential grow stagnant, and then begin to decline. It annoys me. Second, speaking of hate, is anyone else smiling with joy that the Eunuchs were massacred? They served a good purpose for the story, and it was time for them to go. With extreme violence as their escort. That made the episode for me. |

Suzaku's not gonna die. Don't bother wishing for it. Overall he's pretty crap character this season. Sure he's less annoying, but he doesn't do anything that another character couldn't easily do instead. He just shows up and takes something of Lelouch's (Nunnally and Kallen) just to piss him off. Troll character.

There's that. Anyway, I think that no matter how much Suzaku-hatred there is out there or no matter how many who wishes a slow and painful death upon him, he won't die. Death might be too gentle a fate for him anyway; it's perhaps better that in the end, he realizes the long chain of errors he has commited and wovs to work to truly atone them this time around.

I have notice that to be a common theme, especially with Lulu and Suzaku. Sexy women all around, and those two are either not in the mood, being interupted, having one die before the can get the chance to full express themselves, or are two busy with their own agendas.

I don't think that's it. But.. If Lelouch manages to defeat/overthrow Britannia for good, then Suzaku will in a very real sense lose his way. His reason for joining Britannia was in the firs tplace that he thought that resistence was meaningless and would only bring more losses and pain, so he thought it was better to join them and try to change thigns from the inside - but if Britannia disappears, then there is no Britannia left to chage from the inside and with his belief that resistence is meaningless, he can't well oppose Zero if he manages to get a huge uppger hand, because that then he'll go agaisnt his own beliefs. so in the end, he may find himself forced to live and work in the world Zero creates...
