If that's the case, then how come the ED sequence, which shows snippets from everyone's life, shows him being just as bug-eyed? Was that a case of The Artists Just Didn't Care or did his bug-eyed-ness come after Jeanne's death as he delved deeper and deeper into black magic*?

Oh wait, he's Chaotic Evil in UBW and Fate/Zero, he seems to be less twisted in Fate and HF (then he didn't a lot of things to do in HF)

Second one: He was already insane. That sequence was before his execution. I meant when he was Jeanne's trusted companion and warrior, not a child murderer and magus.

He's not really Evil, because he feels the world is corrupted and must be purged. He can't be corrupted, as an absolute existence (unlike Saber, who switches to Lawful Evil when she's corrupted), he has the right to judge others since he ruled the world once. Remember even Iskandar acknowledged him as the rightful owner of the world/grail...

You can interpret his actions as very extreme in UBW (he pretty much wants a Biblical Flood), because he has grown disgusted (and as far as he can see, people can survive the curse, Kirei did). But Fate/Zero wise? What does he do of 'evil'? He's loyal and protective to the ones who he seem as 'his' people (like Kirei). He even respects Iskandar a great deal. We realize even that what he loves more are:

As for magic resistance. While Arthuria's higher due to her personal stats, the class usually comes with it (that's why it's in class related stats and not personal ones like say, Arthuria's Instinct). Like Archer class comes with independent action, it's a class-related stat. Nero has it lower because she doesn't have a natural resistance, but the class gives her one (albeit weaker) if that makes sense.
