That's lucky. I'm have a test tomorrow, will need to sleep early.

Any test placed on Toradora episode day is bound to be failed. It doesn't help that this is the 3rd last episode.

Honestly, I'm not waiting to see her mother this time. I want to know, if Kawashima eventually will talk to Takasu again. In her own special way, most of of love, of course...

But I'll have to wait for english subs, because I don't understand more than 5-10 words in Japanese..... I'll watch without, nevertheless.

Episode seemed to be another dramatic one, but I'll have to wait for subs or detailed analyses (or both) to figure out exactly what happened...

It seems this episode ends with Taiga running away and Minorin and Ryuuji chasing after her. So no Taiga's mom here.

Seems like the more drama the less animation quality, faces in this episode sometimes were as sketchy as in the ep 16 (Sumire vs Taiga fight).

Spoiler for however taiga now was much more cute than in ep16 :

So looks like they're cutting down Vol. 10 for this. Sigh...

Although it would make more sense to have Vol. 9's ending and the first bit of Vol. 10 in the same episode, given the content and the time they have to work with.

I suppose it gives people a lot more reason to buy/read the novels. I'll just watch and ignore any knowledge of the novels and see how the storytelling stands on its own.

Actually that's my problem with this anime. The Toradora! novel was bloody brilliant versus the anime. But whatever...

As a note to the animation. I love it when there's action and they get raw like that. You see it when Taiga is running after Ryuuji in the episode of the dance and she comes to her realization. The animation went wonky. I love it though because it adds an extra definition to the detail.

D:, well that leaves two episodes to catch a glimpse of Taiga's mom. (Bah.. who am I kidding, there never was a picture in the novel) Still, I wonder what'll be mixed and matched.

The massive compression of adaptation was inevitable given the tight "2 cour for 10 volumes" problem. The most one can hope for is a giddy synopsis of the plot and highlights - rather like a travelogue.

I don't know... I think the anime succeeds in its own right, though it doesn't really succeed as an adaptation.

I have a couple people who aren't even into romantic comedies interested in it, so...

Though it is something to have compressed a 10 volume series of novels into 25 episodes of an anime. And to have kept our fickle interest in it at the same time.
