Honestly, it's maybe not my place as an outsider to judge but it makes me sad how Japanese society and the seiyuu industry in particular ostracizes people for so-called moral crimes. The whole controversy/rumors over Emi Nitta today really emphasized how hard it is to be seiyuu whose entire life is under the microscope.

Then again, I have never heard of criminal charges being dropped in the USA or Europe because of "social consequences" so maybe the Japanese approach to moral crimes is less regressive than I'm giving it credit for.

M・A・O's got a heck of a lot of roles this season....

Main character in Space Patrol Luluco
Female lead in Kuromukuro
Female lead in Seisen Cerberus
Main cast for Netgame no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?
Main cast for Hundred
Support role in Tonkatsu DJ Agetarō

After watching the Flip Flappers PV I went to see who was casted and was surprised to see her have 6 roles this season.

All the main cast School-Live! girls are going pretty well atm.

Let's not forget that this type of scandal also exist in other part of the world. True for Japanese case it bit more severe because of their culture. Especially part where they focusing too much on their purity. Some of them ignore that Seiyuu is normal human being instead flawless anime girl

And sometimes, being a less known VA is good..

Depends, because being a rookie also means you are subject to possible "issues" with manager and all. Kokoro connect fiasco is the most infamous case regarding a less known seiyuu in the recent years.

Speaking of Emi, do you think those "charges" have any merit? Tabloid journalism is one thing, but actually claiming in a publication without any proof that a person was in porn...that's cause for a libel suit there, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm really surprised (in a good way) at how far she's come as a seiyuu, especially after first seeing her in a live-action as Gokai Yellow on Gokaiger. She was one of the highlights of the show, so I'm not surprised to see her doing so well as a seiyuu .

Read today that by anime fans polls in 2016 the best Seiyuu is Kana Hanazawa.

Voice of Kobato Hanato ( Haganai ), Erī Haruue ( Certain Scientific Railgun/ magical Index ), Kanade Tachibana ( Angel Beats ), Anri Sonohara ( Durarara!! ), Kuroneko ( Oreimo ), Charlotte Dunois ( Infinite Startos ) to name just a few...

An I agree since she gives voice to Char, the best gal.

I remembered hearing her voice as Kanna Aoyagi in the Koe de Oshigoto OVAs (it had lots of potential to be full-fledged series, plus the manga is currently back in circulation and it's on its way to the end), and then I knew she would come this far, so I'm not really surprised by this development.

This generation of seiyuu just might be the best since the Anime Boom of the 2000's.

I feel bad for Emi Nitta, but at the same time, I'd find her cool for being in a porn while doing this good girl role like Honoka...just to slap Japan in the face over how stupidly strict this whole idol/seiyuu culture is.

at least she sounds distinctive and not the same in every role. Though Sawashiro-sama is the goddess of VAs

Oh, shit. I just got ninja'd right there.

I know about HanaKana's range (as evident in her rant I mentioned above), it's just I'm used to her usual cold but sweet voice in many of her roles that I know of.

I agree. It's ridiculous that actors in Japan aren't allowed to have their own private lives, as if they're beholden in any way to their audience's whims.

Oh shit. What Emi Nitta has to deal with right now is almost at the same level of all the bullshit Aya Hirano had to put up with.

The saddest part it that it may not have happened. One guy on MAL claims the girl in that video was someone else.

And her career is ruined all because she looks like the girl in that JAV (whether or not she is the same person, and even if she is, that was from before she became seiyuu) and the fact that hardcore otaku in Japan demand their seiyuu to remain virgins.

On that last part, it's no wonder the Japanese are starting to go extinct right now. Dammit, hardcore Japanese otaku, you got way too much free time in your hands.
