The amazing animation effort made me like the chapter better.
That said, it's still a bit stupid to see Brian Hawk get defeated just as he was getting wild. I suppose that could mean that if he didn't get hit a few times while Takamura was going nuts, Hawk would've ran over for the win. That'd only make sense to me. Still, the manliness and GAR wins the day I suppose. By far the most nonsensical of the victories in the series IMO. Cool fight or not. Especially for something this important. Oh well. I guess Takamura just is a dumb but really powerful brawler with massive training after all. Now we need to hear his boasts afterward. |

EPIC episode as always, you may call me crazy but I gotta rewatch the whole match from the very beginning to the end without interruption once the season is over
Gotta love the blood , as expected from MADHOUSE, does this episode remind anyone of the last episode of Death Note, also from MADHOUSE? Spoiler for Death Note END Comparison:
I tried to avoid clear spoilers as much as possible |

Takamura didn't have that inner light this time around. It's the old BRAWLER whose there to fight until the last drop of blood sweat and fists he's got!
Ever since episode 21 aired onwards the fights where EPIC!!!

It's sorta funny because Ippo, the protagonist of it all has barely gotten much screen time at all in this season. Not one of his epic title defenses so far. All his fights are pretty good, just that we haven't gotten to the truly good defense yet.

Well the reason probably why it's said to be HNI NEW CHALLENGER. It's the other guys fights focus rather than Ippo's fight. Only Hammer Nao and that fodder Li Chonpil.
Also this series focuses on championships. Miyata VS Arnie G. OPBF champ belt. Eiji Date VS Richardo Martinez World Featherweight champ belt and Ippo's tittle defenses. There was only little focus on Itagaki and his debut match where he shows that he's not yet experienced enough to be in the ring, but will not give up boxing. Spoiler for sister:

^ the spoiler above: well, it didn't matter much to me if she wasn't shown, since she plays no important role to the series whatsoever ( except probably to piss Kumi-chan off! ).
You should know by now how useless "romantic plotlines" are in this series... well, there's Aoki...but that's an entirely different discussion! |

Greatest fight EVA! Brian Hawk is gonna have to sip Asian women threw a straw now^^...Thank God for anime, if this were real I couldn't even watch this $hit because of how gruesome it would be...Everyone in the boxing community would lose their licenses letting this fight go past the 3rd round....Good for us tho'...
