First episode is out.
Honestly, this is one of the strangest anime I've seen this Spring season especially with Shuuichi in that monster form. Not a bad start though. It has potential imo despite the strange premise and I can hope the story will develop more with our two main leads. OP song is also out

I've read the manga some years ago and stopped halfway not because of it not being interesting but I just put it aside for not having time. Gladly to see it getting an anime. Just finished episode 1 it was interesting, Toyama Nao voicing Kurea surprised me not accustomed to see her doing such roles. Looking forward to see how the other episodes will turn out.

She's way too much of a nutcase for me. Really big negative. For me her interaction with MC just makes the MC look bad and a wimp, which he is. But at least he's not a bad guy, unlike her. Correct answer to her opening her mouth is slap or even punch to the face when she's full cray cray mode.

Claire is definitely crazy, and I'd say she has reasons to be, but it looks like her relationship with Shuichi will be more interesting than the first episode suggested. I believe she was completely sincere at the end. She didn't mince her words, but what she told him was the truth and she will uphold her end of the bargain. This may be a result of the two "merging" and sharing their feelings. The more they'll do it, the more they'll understand each other, I assume.
The bigger plot is also turning out to be intriguing. Claire's sister became a monster and killed their parents, and she is also the one responsible for turning Shuichi into a monster, explaining why he doesn't know anything about the coin (I thought he had lost his memory). Looks like the next ep will focus on her.

I didn't mention it, but I thought the fight scene was really awesome. The animation was a little bit jerky, but it conveyed the impact of the blows really well.
Regarding the first question, they skipped it and it's not that important (I think, I haven't read beyond what the anime's covered), but I'm putting it under spoiler tags just in case: Spoiler for manga:

Well color me interested. I'm definitely going to keep up with this and see where it goes. I'll have to check out the manga as well when it's over.
Clair certainly is a character. Ruthless and down right suicidal. I honestly think Kagaya will learn from her and gain much needed boost in confidence. As for the mystery girl at the end. She must've been Kagaya's attended partner with the talk of her wanting to become one with him. sounds like a classic Yandere to me.

I've always been kinda mixed on this kind of story. On the one hand, the extensive fanservice just feels purile but on the other hand I feel like it is meant to go hand in hand with the general theme of ugly animalistic savagery, kind of like how I felt with Made in Abyss. And whilst it's easy to hate the pair at first it became clear me at this point in the story that these were two broken kids willing to help each other and I started to find them interesting because of that.
