It is much nicer to multitask when eating and what not with this option, but does ONSCRIPTER just make this rather difficult, what has become standard feature for visual novels?

Well... if you have followed us from a while and/or checked the readme, you would have found it I think: just press A.
Just another note: the readme also includes the other functions hotkeys, such like mute, skip (with effects, unlike CTRL), etc.

ah sure enough, though I suppose i never read the readme since i looked in the thread and only found one part that mentioned autoread, which was that it wasn't there (closest thing being the autoskip/fast forward), but saw nothing about autoread being on the 1-4 release. I too patiently wait for the ep 8 download, though from Klash's post on may 10 it looks like they hadn't initially planned to wait for the full release patch

Now it has of course been almost a month since this was posted, but I'd imagine any postponement news would have been mentioned by now, so hopefully the answer is 'any time now'

As for the EP8 download, Witch Hunt has mentioned before that the staff members have become very busy in 'real' life, so I can only guess that stuff got delayed. They wanted EP8 to become available together with the Chiru v4.0 release, so I can't think of a reason why they'd suddenly wait with its release until the translation is finished. We'll just have to be patient.

i live in the United Arab Emirates (famous for it's city Dubai)
so i can't buy Umineko from the Witch-Hunt website

i don't think there will be any demand from where i live :P

so is there any other way i can purchase umineko? (no way it's sold around here)

Yes. Both the installer versions and the zip version of the patch work with both the DVD and the download.

I'm ok if it's delayed a bit. I decided to do a replay of episodes 1-7 before finishing Episode 8, and I just have half of Episode 7 left to do. This should give me enough time to finish it and be ready.

I just completed the free demo and the translation work has been excellent. But because I want to complete rest of the series without having too long pauses I'm going to wait till the translation for the 8th episode is completed before I buy the games.

A small question which really doesn't belong to this thread that much but I am afraid of spoilers and couldn't find a better suited thread. Is the 8th episode the final episode or will there be more?

PS: once more, great job WH, keep up the good work!

The mansion is a popular western-style manson in Japan I think.. it's real life counterpart is also used in the Liar Game drama series and I think I've seen it in some other manga as well..

Kyū Furukawa Gardens to be exact, much like Shirakawa has been used for Hinamizawa. And yes that's an ova, even though it's just a very short one.

Reading at about 14 hours a day it took me about 3 days per episode (then more time to go through and read the forum on that episode, and THEN at some point you should re-read through at least the first episode again) so there might not be much of a problem.

There might be some extras that come out later but 8 is the final episode

After you do, reload the save and watch all the hints for some extra little scenes of Battler and Beato trying to solve the game. It's quite interesting
