Episode 11

Spoiler:

Dad is feeling lonely now that Sawako has friends and is going out more. Mom is fine with that and seems to anticipate a lot of nice things happening to Sawako. I loved the scene when Chizuru and Ayane predicted exactly what each of them were thinking and saying. Those two are so cute, getting embarrassed by even walking next to each other. I laughed when Joe and Andy re-did the confession scene by them. Of course, while everyone was surprised about this, the main cast were a bit worried that the first thing Shouta and Sawako walked into was that. Joe, this is the part where you keep your mouth shut; but no, he was about to say what happened in the classroom with the two of them. Good thing Shouta stopped him. Again, everyone did not really beleive it, so Shouta has to tell it out loud once again the relationship between them. Only when the two were embarassed does the gang realize that it is indeed true. Now everyone is hanging out and having fun.

Meanwhile, Pip is seen drinking alone, and Kent is hanning out with his girl friends and taunting Pip. Kent tells Shouta about what has happened to him and Sawako prior to the confession. Of course, Shouta was angry that everything was supposedly his fault. Pip takes Sawako and talks about the confession. Pip makes Shouta, who was close to him, up front to Sawako and make him say that he wants to go out with her. The problem with Pip is that as soon as he opened his mouth, Pip bumps in, and Sawako thinks that Shouta wanted to marry her. Kazehaya is angry, Sawako wants to actually think about it, and Pip just placed Shouta in a predicament. To make it worse, Sawako actually tells her father about marriage. So, Sawako thinking about it is literally her fantasizing what it would be like to get married to Shouta. Of course, he is embarasse about it, but now is the time to be serious. Shouta steps up and confesses to Sawako, to which is immediately agrees on. I like the fact that Chizuru accidentally spills out that she also accidentally ignited the awkwardness of the two in the past. Ayane is obviously angered by that. Of course, there is Kurumi, whom should not be forgotten.

The next day in class, Sawako tells herself that everything that was happened was not a dream. Surprisingly, by the time she gets to school, everyone drags her in front of them and formed a neat line. Apparently, everyone that has asked her about love problems in the cafe confessed and are now dating. What are the chances? Now, Shouta and Sawako are put on the spot in the classroom by Ayane, and Shouta tells everyone about the relationship between him and Sawako once more. She even drew everything to summarize the entire event, and now everyone is going out to spread the news about this. The problen is that Kurumi may still be sad about this.

Episode 12

Shouta and Sawako are seen taking out the garbage together when suddenly, Pip comes in and steals Shouta from her. Due to his, Sawako was about to hear a small talk from the girls. Ayane and Chizuru already know that, despite all of this happiness, there is one girl who will obviously be sad about this. Sawako tells them that she is going to see her. The problem with that is that those same girls from last year are attacking Sawako because she has now obtained Shouta. Kurumi attempts to shove all of them off, saying that it is useless to attack her since Shouta would be angry about it. Knowing that everyone liked him due to his personality, the girls cannot admit to themselves that Shouta is not out of their reach. Ayane and Chizuru have their talk with the girls about what they should have done if they really liked Sawako. Meanwhile, Pip is being the usual jerk he is, saying that he should deserve a lot of credit and gloating about it.

Sawako and Kurimu meet up at the rooftop. Here, Sawako tells Kurumi that she has indeed confessed to her and just wanted her to know about it as a friend. Kuruki may not like the result, but what is done is done, and Kurumi was actually glad that Sawako was her rival. If it was not for her, she might not have even confessed and stayed only as a friend to him. Kent overhears everything and tells Kurumi about his opinion on it. Ayane manages to squeeze herself into this, now that she has finally sen her today. Kurumi is obviously upset about it, there is no doubt in that. I was just surprised that she was quite relieved that her fight for Shouta is finally over. Now, Kent gives out his opinion, stating hat he had fun watching the entire thing, although some of the confusion was done by him. Chizuru and Sawako are seen together when Ryu and Shouta showed up. Chizuru gives Sawako and Shouta some alone time by dragging Ryu with her. I like it how Ryu confessed to her naturally with Chizuru caught off guard. Shouta should have done something together with her. Instead, he rides his bike and says goodbye to her during their departure from school. The end of the series featured a date with the two of them, which was nice. I like it how Sawako immediately gave Shouta everything that she wanted to give to him, but was too scared to do so. Shouta immediately puts on the knitted hat and eats the chocolate.

That was a fun series. I really enjoyed it. Definitely one of my favorites.

What Kazehaya said at the very end really got to me. It wasn't anything revolutionary, in fact it was sort of cliched, but none of that matters when put in the context of this series and what the characters have been through to get to this point.

"[Being a girlfriend] is not a job; just be yourself."

I imagine that was exactly what Kuronuma needed to hear. Hopefully she takes it to heart.

Damn! Couldn't have put it better. Those last words from Kazehaya also touched me so deeply. Kuronuma was worried so much about what to do to be a good girlfriend, and Kazahaya just tells her she only needs to be herself.

Perfect ending if you ask me!

While the manga's story is still ongoing, Production IG picked a good spot to end this season on; it really felt like a conclusion as opposed to a more open-ended 'read the manga to find out what happens next' kind of ending.

This is one of the most satisfying endings I've seen in anime and I'm thankful to Production IG for giving such a good adaptation.

I also like how they showed the date chapter in condensed format during the credits; I feel like it gave a stronger sense of finality and it was extremely heartwarming, even by this series' standards.

Even if a third season isn't made, this still makes for a satisfactory conclusion.

I didn't like the beginning, but damn were the last 4 episodes freaking godly. The ending totally saved it for me, even though the endings of most anime tend to do the opposite.

Finally received the 2nd volume of the 2nd season today after having its original release date delayed due to the earthquakes, and then having to wait til the Easter public holidays were over before I could pick it up from my local post office. There's a special bonus mini video featuring Kurumi called "Mini Todo" which I've yet to watch.

EDIT: Just watched the DVD special short. It's a take on the Cinderella fairytale with Kurumi as Cinderella and Sawako as the evil stepmother and fairy godmother LOL. I took screencaps for those interested in the short below. Funny how they used an eggplant as the horse and the terrible fate it comes to at the end XD.

I really like this anime, omg <3 I finished watching it right after the subtitle is there, haha! But the manga continuation is much better. I guess there's gonna be a season 3? Haven't done research, but I hope they would!! <3

So only just one more volume to get before I complete the 2nd season and use the applications tickets for that special pin display holder. I'm still a bit disappointed that VAP hasn't decided to make a box to hold the DVDs even if it's only just 4 volumes considering they were running an application ticket campaign for it for the DVD release of the 1st season.

After having sent in the application tickets a few months ago for joint Kimi ni Todoke 2nd season mail-in item campaigns, I've received the postcard album holder this afternoon along with the cast round-table discussion CD. Link to pictures below. Now all I have to wait for is the pin display stand that will be sent within the next month or so.

This series is beutiful since the begining to the end. Wonderful story and great development of characters, especially sawako, is so easy to love her from the start.

I don't know why I stumbled upon this series... it is pure based on curiosity
and I don't regret it
Sawako's character is unique... and how her character develops is very interesting

season 1 is concentrated how Sawako's environment started to change, how she handled her first friends' quarrel, and slight romantic relationship with Kazehaya
season 2 is purely consist of confession arc which pro-longed to several episodes but very enjoyable

Sawako and Kazehaya are so far one of the most interesting couple I've ever seen
and I'm looking forward for the future

since the manga hasn't ended yet, is it wrong to hope for season 3?
