Kirito and Asuna will both be number 1 next month, there is "lag" in between the time votes are compiled and published and what we are currently seeing. Next months issue will probably take Epiosde 8 into account, it's a wrap. When you see Newtype run a story on an upcoming Movie/OVA for something big, a few months later those characters rise in polls dramatically. Like back when they were doing stories on the Macross Frontier movies you'll see Ranka and Alto come in a few months after that issue, and than drop out again since only Sheryl is a mainstay character. They must've had a Code Geass article for Akito a few months ago to make C.C reenter the chart.
