China with less corruption, cleaner streets, and more hope than Japan?

Maybe if the Chinese can get the Orwellian BS out of their government, and even then it'll still have environmental problems, corrupt habits, and a billion freaking peasants who are mostly impoverished to deal with.

Eh, I think the kid was saying that's what they should aim for, not what they already are.

It's a nice goal, whether that's something that can be achieved anytime soon (or ever), is another issue entirely.

Most of the Japanese manufacture in China is planning to relocate to the Philippines.

Without Japan (to imitate their product) there will be no investor will come to them and pretty soon the Chinese would have no jobs and the Chinese govt. tax revenue will run out like a ticking time bomb.

AFAIK, USA is their number one customer, and Japan second.
So yes, Japanese moving manufacturing out of China would be devastating on their economy.

And yes, it's ironic considering they're kicking them out themselves.

A huge irony indeed.

Not only that, but also a number of companies from many other countries are considering (if it's not already underway) to pull themselves out of China because of the numerous scandals involving use of hazardous materials and poor quality of many many products made in China over the last decade. Anyway, "cheating" in making stuff always gives a bad image (I still remember when I noticed a long time ago that "Made in Taiwan" meant crap) and what happened recently on the political front might have been the one drop too many.

You know what I'm talking about here.

Yeah but chances are it's more like "let's go do things better than those damn Japs" than "all this protesting is counterproductive and we're making massive fools of ourselves in front of everyone."

lol I didn't mean it like that, just that lots if not most of modern Chinese (those who are well-off) forget or more likely do not care that a great proportion of their country is still made up of poor people, and that just because there is a lot of money in China currently or if the nation has increased military force or w/e it doesn't necessarily mean that real progress has been achieved.

Which demonstrates the stupidity of the Chinese is chasing the Japanese away, though I do believe that even without them things will remain more or less the same.

It also shows, given that the hyper-nationalist sentiment is stirred up by state education and propaganda, that the fundamental object of concern for China's leaders is not the economic well-being of its people or standing of the nation, but that the CCP retains its popular perception among the population as being the legitimate ruler; something it has never been and must always go to great lengths to cover up.

Most important and delicious irony: Most of the basic parts in automobiles, cell phones and various electronics assembled in PRC are made by either Japan or ROK. If either ever stops trade, PRC is going to be sinking a whole lot faster.

Surely they must depend on the PRC business somehow, or else they would've stopped putting up with all this nonsense long ago.

Probably Hellions, but building a wall to block entrance would be the best option.

But man messing with 떡볶이, that is not cool.
