Prey 2 E3 Official Trailer
Not complaining about the new look, or even the change in gameplay... but it really doesn't feel like "Prey 2" and more like a game that should be set in its own universe. Unlike the complaints of say, Crysis 2 or FEAR 2, this one doesn't seem to have anything in relation to the first game at all in terms of gameplay, setting, and everything else. Being a space sheriff does have its appeal though. Let's see what more they have to offer.

That's just the thing: from all we know now, the only thing the two games have in common is that both main characters are abducted into a gigantic alien sphere. But the entire setting, the aliens, and most importantly the gameplay mechanics are so entirely different that it's difficult to find a link to the game that was Prey. I'm sure we'll learn more as the months pass, but I won't be playing this game to learn what happened to Tommy that's for sure - I'll be in it to collect some alien bounty.

Anyway, this game looks really promising, even with the limited footage they've show so far. I was a huge fan of the first game, so this will definitely be a first day buy for me once they have a release date. I think my biggest draw to this game is the environment-- so futuristic and cyberpunkish, I love it. |
