I am sure you can download the language pack online from Microsoft. Also while you are at it get Rikaichan and Furigana Injector. Very nice Firefox add-ons.

I'd like to leave some positive feedback for a purchase from an amazon.co.jp associate vendor. I can figure out how to get to the right page, but they require a comment. Could I please get some help from someone on how to say "Excellent, fast shipment, very good packaging"?

Try something like this -
商品を無事で受け取りました。 とてもスムーズな取引でした。迅速、丁寧な対応をありがとうご ざいました。

Lately I ordered from amazon.jp itself and then sent them a letter in Japanese telling them the goods arrived intact. Surprisingly I got a return thank-you letter in Japanese, too! I was happy that my message was understood. And it was also very kind of them to return me the favor by writing in Japanese though I'm a foreigner.

Thanks for the suggestion, nikorai. Since you didn't give an exact translation, I looked at that with Google Translate. It says:

I received the items safe. Trading was very smooth. Quickly, Zaimashita Thanks for your polite response.

I didn't actually have any correspondence with them, it was just a quick delivery with my order well packaged. So the first two parts would be appropriate, not so sure about the third.

And sorry for asking this here, I guess it's not exactly a "learning" question, but hopefully something can be learned from it.

You shouldn't use google translation, it hardly hits the target.
It's not necessarily correspondence, it's more like "thank you for you considerate approach (toward the deal)".
So, this is an important phrase because that's the only one that contains the magic words 'thank you'.

And it is not 'zaimashita', it's 'teinei-na taiou'.

And of course I wouldn't give a word-to-word translation because i feel that Japanese have a different etiquette, it's more formal than what you can usually find on ebay, for example.

And I wish you happy shopping.

Thanks for the clarification. Google Translate may not be the best, but often it's better than nothing. I'll just go with what you suggested.

I think the translator was confused by the space that was between the "go" and "zaimasita" (why was there a space there? Encoding issue?).

Ah, ok. Removing that space just gives "Thank you for your polite response."

ありがとうございました (arigatou gozaimashita) That much I'm able to make out.

Couldn't figure out the first word, but I actually managed to find it with a quick Google. XD

黒刀 夜 (The Black Blade Night) according to http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Kokutou_Yoru

For future reference if you can find the kanji, it's usually an extremely good idea to post that too. Lots of Japanese words sound the same, and lots of fiction will use made-up kanji compounds or very uncommon kanji, so if the translator can see what component kanji the word is made up of, it makes it a lot easier to figure out what it means.

For example, when I look at the kanji for "kokutou" above, it's very clearly "black+blade," but when I look up the reading "kokutou" in the dictionary I get "こくとう [国等] (suf) .. countries like."

The last time I actively tried to learn Japanese was in French class in High School. This thread might prove useful for sure! At least now I don't have a teacher cracking down on me.

お願いがもう一つあります。

歌の歌詞を翻訳してみました。でもちょっと質問が残っています。

だれが運転手ですか? 女の子ですか。男の子ですか?
全然分かりませんでした。

大スキ!
(“I love you”
Aka “Big skis”)

とってもとっても とってもとっても
とってもとっても 大スキよ
ダーリン I like you. ダーリン いい いい
I love you soooooo much.
Darling, I like you. Darling~

2回目のドライブ Doki Doki しちゃう
広がる青い空 最高だね
We go for a joyride the second time around.
I'm pulsated!
Blue sky over our heads is fantastic, isn’t it?

あなたといると楽しい
2つに並ぶ 缶ジュース
なんか もううれしすぎて
ホッペに チュッてしたくなる
だけど今は運転中
横顔を 見つめていよう
It’s fun to be with you.
Bottles of juice in two rows.
I’m sort of overly happy now.
And I want to kiss you on the cheek.
But I’m at the wheel.
So you’ll have to look at me in profile.

とってもとっても とってもとっても
とってもとっても 大スキよ
ダーリン I like you. ダーリン いい
I love you soooooo much.
Darling, I like you. Darling~

アイ アイ アイ アイ
アイ アイ アイ アイ
アイ アイ アイ アイ
あ・い・し・て・る。
ダーリン I love you. ダーリン いい いい
I lo-lo-lo-lo (x12) love you.
Darling, I like you. Darling~

写真いっぱい撮ったね
「今すぐ見たいよぉ」

We took lots of pictures.
I want to see them real soon.

夕焼けの帰り道 予定変更
スピード写真に寄り道
「1時間後です。」(OK)
あと 1時間 ドライブ
ごめんね ほんとは
もう少し 一緒にいたかったんだ
I change my plans on our way home at sunset.
We stop at a photo booth.
“An hour later.”
Then we drive for another hour.
I’m sorry
But I really wanted
To stay with you just a little longer.

とってもとっても とってもとっても
とってもとっても 大スキだから
ダーリン I like you. ダーリン いい
I love you soooooo much.
Darling, I like you. Darling~

ずっとずっと ずっとずっと
ずっとずっと そばにいたい。
ダーリン I love you. ダーリン いい いい
I want to stay with you foreeeeeeeeeeever.
Darling, I like you. Darling~

はじめて撮った写真は
なんだか ちょっと くすぐったい
でも顔がにやけてきちゃう
もうすぐで さよならだね
今日ね すごくね むちゃくちゃ
楽しかった
ありがと。 ダーリン
The photo we took for the first time
Sort of has a tickling feeling in it.
But I already have a sweet smile on my face.
We’ll have to bid farewell soon.
You know, today was awesome.
And I had lots of fun.
Thank you, darling.

(In this case, if にやけるis said by a girl it should be OK, IMO)
とってもとっても とってもとっても

I didn't read all of it. It's not stated specifically, but it can be clearly inferred that the man is the one driving. Japanese is lame in the way it handles pronouns.

Couple of small translation mistakes.
あなたといると楽しい
2つに並ぶ 缶ジュース
なんか もううれしすぎて
ホッペに チュッてしたくなる
だけど今は運転中
横顔を 見つめていよう

Yours:
It’s fun to be with you.
Bottles of juice in two rows. (Two cans lined up together)
I’m sort of overly happy now.
And I want to kiss you on the cheek. (なる sort of implies that she has become "wanting to kiss him on the cheek)
But I’m at the wheel. (It doesn't say I anywhere. Should be something like "But you (implied by the next line) are in the middle of driving)
So you’ll have to look at me in profile. (mistranslation here. The いよう at the end implies intent. In this situation, it's fairly obvious that she is the one talking, so the intent being expressed must also be hers. Correct translation is "So I shall look at your profile")

Therefore! The guy must be the one driving. My Japanese is not nearly perfect, but I'm fairly certain my answer here is correct.

説明と翻訳ありがとうございます。

I had an idea that it would be logical for a guy to drive. But then some fit of stupidity made me change the translation.
I thought that the girl didn’t want to get distracted from the road. Like this –
