It looks like the manga series Kakkou no Iinazuke/A Couple of Cuckoos will be getting an anime adpatation.

Plot Synopsis

What, already? I know that technically it started earlier than Hiroyuki's Kanojo mo Kanojo that is also getting an anime, but it feels that almost nothing of substance happened in KnI, compared to KmK.

Well, far as I know, the same could be said of My Senpai is Annoying, as I don't believe that series has made it hardly anywhere yet. Frankly with that one I wasn't even sure they had enough to make a season.

This has better pre-anime sales than 5toubun had, in-fact impressive sales. The publishers also blatantly called it a 5toubun replacement in an interview, so it's not that surprising if they at least want to announce an anime early, even if it comes out later. If I remember correctly, 5toubun's anime also got announced early in Chapter 49. Coincidentally, Kakkou also has 49 chapters currently.

I already said I'm not giving Yoshikawa Miki another chance, unless she pulls up a satisfying surprise victory for someone and Erika doesn't win. From what I have skimmed through from the manga, the plot elements hardly go anywhere. In return, character interactions are amusing enough. It doesn't have that good of a mystery baiting like 5toubun, although Yamada-kun already proved me that when it comes to her writing style. Probably what's worse is that both Yoshikawa's past works went beyond 200 chapters, so dragging is imminent unless she learned her lesson.

Hiroaki Akagi (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Those Snow White Notes) is the chief director of the anime and Yoshiyuki Shirahata (episode director for Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Great Pretender) is directing the anime at Shin-Ei Animation and Synergy SP. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War both seasons, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) is overseeing the series scripts, and Aya Takano (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Polar Bear's Café) is designing the characters.

What a shame that manga is completely generic haremshit and borefest. Yamada was so good compared to this shit.

Yamada-kun's anime artstyle was so on point compared to this atrocity.

I was downplaying Kakkou since I had my bad lesson with Yoshikawa's writing, but if it's only going to be a cour long, heck, even with 2-cours, barely anything happens with the "plot". Also, false advertisement. It's one thing that Erika is the predictable endgirl, but this is a harem, yet this first PV tries to sell you on OTP romance, when it's not, far from it.

Hiro's voice is off from what I have had in mind. I like Nao a lot, so I'm not sure why it's the cutesy, childish tone they have decided on, instead of the calm, lower, mature one.
