I was a bit concerned about the chibi art style but it works pretty well overall. First episode seemed decent enough, and this is probably my favorite Funa series so hopefully its done justice.

Aw, they removed the "making tons of Descendants and having her family gene run rampant in another world" part out, though they kept the "maintaining the same gene even in isekai" part.

And really, Kaoru overcomplicated her escape. Potion of invisibility, potion of flight, potion of various superpowers... There were any numbers of ways she could have escaped.

Feels kind of lame, since her power, while limited to potions, is basically will and imagination-based. She could very well not request for her current physical body, and she could just make a potion that changes her physical appearance for unlimited time until overwritten by another potion.

But it's an oreatai-tsue in different skin and something different at least.

I like the cute art style. And the potion skill is OP indeed. No mixing or gathering required.

good thing Kaoru escaped from that evil noble who only want to use her.

Not crazy about the art style. I wonder if there will be any caps on her potion ability, or later down the road she'll be like "I summon a potion that when I drink it will cause (insert enemy name here) to have a heart attack and die" or "I drink the 'peasants revolt and overthrow their king' potion" lol

I think it's safe to assume that the potion will only have direct effects on the imbiber and effects on the target when applied topically, rather than indirect effects like that, which will be utter garbage, since she can just wish for "world peace" or something. But we could definitely twist it to have her gaining the brainwashing ability and brainwash the peasants to overthrow their king

Nevertheless, having no limits, except those of her imagination and creativity, on direct effects is still

Even most magic concepts based on will and creative imagination, usually could be inferred to be constrained by mana, stamina, and concentration, or some gamified limits like levels and stuff. But so far, I've not yet seen anything of that sort. So we shall see.

Well, once again we get a super rush. This's why I shouldn't read FUNA's works before they're animated. Seriously, they missed so much hilarity just to get through to later points.

Spoiler for for instance...:

When she saw her family, she told them that she'd keep her body and genes but get aged down, and promised that she'd spread their family's genes throughout the world. Her little sister also asked for a handsome prince or super-valuable diamond sent back, which she obviously couldn't fulfill. The next day, no one's talking since they are still depressed about losing her and uneasy about talking about that weird "dream", until the big brother recalls her promise to spread their genes and shouts "what are we, cockroaches!?", at which point everyone starts to crack up and laugh and cry together.

The parting with her friends was particularly heartfelt, particularly when they woke up, as Reiko, who'd kept her cool through the parting, broke down while Kyoko held her and desperately apologized for going so nuts and keeping her from expressing her own grief to Kaoru.

There was a good bit more involved with the gods. In particular, it's revealed that what she's seeing is really just a minute fraction of an immense consciousness, partly broken off and limited to be more comprehensible to a mortal; Celes briefly exposes a larger portion of her consciousness and it is kind of like talking to a computer. Basically, Celes' full consciousness isn't quite as skilled at such things and thus dumbed the avatar down a little too much, also resulting in a deep respect for the more mature god of the original world turning into that ridiculous hero worship.

One last thing, Kaoru wasn't so cruel as to just abandon Hannah like that. The lord initially punished Hannah and told her to work off the debt for what'd been taken. Kaoru later sent her a package containing the uniform and I believe a bit of additional compensation, along with a potion she had her promise to take in private. The lord forgave much if not all her debt upon seeing this, and afterward none of the servants could stop talking about how Hannah had suddenly lost all the callouses and hair damage from hard work and was instead just radiant with perfect skin and hair.

One other thing, which I certainly understand a bit more: FUNA has a tendency to point out the difference between Japanese and Westerners' appearance. In particular, just like how his heroines are always young ladies who look exceptionally small, he'll often bring up the fact that Japanese girls tend to look a lot younger than Western girls the same age. For example, since Kaoru didn't clarify that she's 15 when asking for girls around her age, they set up a bunch of girls significantly younger. Hannah is either 11 or 12 and quite average for a Western girl of that age. It's a minor fortune for Kaoru that she didn't ask her age and just assumed she was also 15.

Anyway, I'm kind of glad I didn't make it far into this series as I'll be able to watch without judgment.

Also, I'd say they did improve one thing: the realization of the "any and all languages" issue. In the LN/manga, she's not sure how to get to town and, spotting a squirrel, asks the little critter if there's a town nearby. No explanation as to why she thought to ask a rodent for directions, she just did, and then started slamming her head into the tree upon realization that it works. Having her just notice birds "singing" and then realize they're actually griping to each other about the political state of the nation makes more sense to me. I just hope she'll at some point come up with some way to use this, as it certainly would confuse people if they actually saw her chirping or neighing, but still being able to understand what animals say and speak with them in turn would definitely open up a lot of possibilities.
