This might offend a lot of people, but television to me is too cheap to do superheroes justice. That's why I'm glad the DC movies have their own Flash.
While I'm sure Daredevil and company are doing the best they can with their limited budget, what I want is a legit movie.

I'm surprised that there's not much talk at this point here, considering the movie is about a month away. After seeing Civil War today (and ranting about that movie in that thread)... I'm HIGHLY anticipating this to cleanse my palate. My only grip is what they did to the Ancient One, but that was a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't situation. I'm going to just bite the bullet on that one, and enjoy the rest of the movie.

And if anyone remembers Constantine, this isn't the first time she's played a questionably-gendered person, and she was one of the bright points in that.

Just came from the theater. A really strong movie. Not as good as the Captain America films but strong nonetheless. Once again, DC needs to get their shit together if they even want to compete.
Strong movie for the same reason the Iron Man movies were strong: If Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark, billionaire playboy weapons designer, then Benedict Cumberbatch IS Dr. Stephen Strange, MD, neurosurgeon and sorcerer supreme. That gambit he did in the end was hilariously brilliant. Because... Spoiler for Massive Spoilers:

Still a wait here sadly. Though glad it turned out to be good. I think it'd be tough for an origin film to compete with Cap's latest films. Don't think it is hard to be as good or better than the First Avenger (which was solid, but not one of my favorites).
I just like what Doctor Strange opens up for the MCU. Really getting magic into the mix. Also get a new and strong personality to match up with guys like Tony Stank or Steve Rogers.

I still need time to process what I watched. But I think I understand enough to say, IMO, that don't bother to watch this in 3D. The 3D effects isn't that good and it ruins the actual martial arts scenes. Save your money and watch it in 2D.
The story is rushed, sadly, but it is something that was inevitable. Strange could have gotten 2 movies out of it but there just isn't enough time. Ironic consider the story's subject matter. It doesn't help that I accidentally spoiled the ending for myself, so how the climax ended wasn't a shock. I just wish I saw it in 2D so it all wasn't so blurry. Remember, 2D is better.

3D in the theaters pretty much always sucks unless the movie is entirely CG (like the Pixar or DreamWorks Animation movies) or has so many effects as to basically be CG (like Tron: Legacy). At the very least, it should have been filmed in 3D, which most of them haven't, since it's cheaper just to make it 3D in post. The tech is a lot better than it used to be, but it's still not quite there yet.

After sleeping on it, I decided that Doctor Strange is strongest in how it portrayed the major characters. The plot is rushed as I said before, but the personalities shine through.
Surprisingly, my favourite character is the Ancient One. Spoiler for her portrayal:

Must... resist... opening... tags!
Still have to wait a week from tomorrow to go see it, and that week can't go by fast enough (granted, working all week will help). It sounds like so far the only problem is how fast the story moves, but as long as it's otherwise a solid movie, we can probably forgive that much.
