I originally thought of the Clannad subforum, but my post is more exact and I like that...so both are technically correct...

And if more then one is (sufficiently) correct, it's obviously first come first serve. No offense or anything, but it's kind of unfair for you to pick which you "like" more. It's either on target or it isn't.

The wings and air refer to Air, and the wings and guns refer to Little Busters, two other games by Key, mentioned later on. The stars refer to the starfish that a character in Clannad is infatuated with, and the dumplings refer to dango, flavored rice dumplings that starred in a very famous anime ending...

People loved me in my day
but now moved on to other things
and I've become a Carnival of Rust.

The answer is old, referring to how it's in the Older Series section, and how people loved Clannad in its day. imo the Rust also referred to it being old.

The Key to finding me is in my origin.

Key is the company who made it. I saw origin as referring perhaps to family. Old, beloved anime that centered around family and is made by a company named Key? Clannad (which really should just be called Clann, gotta do the research on how to use other languages properly, guys ).

Try breaking apart each comma as another line if you still can't understand all those run-on sentences.

I believe the battle is being held in my first link, where there is a heated debate on whether or not to keep the torrents on Animesuki. It is oft ignored by many who come to the forums, and has torrents (torrential).

for, through the power of mysterious outside forces.

There are seventeen categories of forums on the Animesuki forums, and they are organized into four larger categories. I took this and assumed that Papua New Guinea is the Animesuki forums. The last sentence refers to people searching for... something that we'll discover later (?).

These forces you ask? The many villagers speak of the torrential
downpour of the raining feline plauge, or the outbreak in river
streams being contaminated with expired rolls of burnt food. The list
continues as less make the "easy" pilgramige to the sacred Anglestone.

Torrential = torrents. Are they searching for torrents? Makes sense, since "expired rolls" can refer to expired torrents plaguing the torrent listing.

The pilgramige you ask? The villagers only need to sacrifice their
home to be whisked away to the Anglestone of Origins, while to return,
they only need to recall how to reconstruct where they just had lived.
As more and more villagers become initiated into Papua New Guinea, the
Anglestone becomes forgotten by most.

Sacrificing their home = deleting the "forums" part of the URL in the web browser's address bar. To return, they just have to remember how to reinsert "forums" in the address, and "forums" is also where they want to return to. As more and more people join the forums, the torrent listing becomes forgotten by most.

The Anglestone you ask? It is a carefully planned athenaeum of the
Gods these villagers worship. The Chiefs in the village are the chosen
ones for its preservation, but because the forces over time defiled
the sanctity of the stone through loss of conciseness, the Chiefs have
decided to open a battleground in the lower valley of the mountain--to
decide the fate of the sacred stone.

An athenaeum is a place to go to learn, or a place where printed materials are available. The torrent listing and the wiki can be said to be athenaeums of Animesuki (the wiki for obvious reasons, and the torrent listings to learn about where to get torrents). Chiefs = Animesuki staff and GHDPro. They were tasked with keeping up Animesuki.com, but it is no longer the most important aspect, or sanctity, of Animesuki. The lower valley of the mountain = the lower part of the forums's main page, at the very bottom, in the Forum and Site Feedback section. The battleground in question is in the Time to End It thread, to decide the fate of the sacred stone, the torrent listing.

The battle you ask? The village has been divided; many that live up in
the mountain saying the end is long overdue, while the rest live in
the Anglestone itself. The battle will decide if the stone will be
left untouched forever falling into the sea of dark oblivion, or
continue on into the infinitesimal. As everything is coming to an end;

distant future?

Some in the thread say the torrent listing should be canned, since it's been displaced by other torrent listings. Others argue to keep it for nostalgia and its usefulness. Angle Stone=Cornerstone, and yes, Komari is right refering to that as the original site.
The second line is pretty much just showing the total number of members here, which is about 17x10^4. (~17[4],000]) I do like Komari's answer better though.
The 'not what one is looking for' line indicates that your not looking for the stone itself, but the battle near the end.

It's okay, my answer was a little too out in the open anyway, and I think I made it painfully obvious with the final parts of the riddle. When I saw all of you competitors posting in that thread it actually made me kind of nervous.

This was certainly a learning experience for me with making my first riddle. Like Illusore, I'll be sure to make something waay harder if the chance ever comes again.
