Has there been any confirmation on whether it will ever get another season ? I'd seen a lot of speculation before the movie announcement but nothing really since.

None for now.

Story in the OVA that will come with movie BD takes place after the end of movie ,so if there will be any hint of SS2, it will be in that OVA. We can only wait.

The schedule of garupan's director (which is also shirobako's director) seems to be very full (it's filled years in advance) and that make shirobako impossible to get season 2/movie . I think garupan's situation about s2 won't be much different from it unless they planned it early on like how they start making this movie back when garupan was airing
