I always thought "IMyMe: Strawberry Eggs" was a ridiculous title for an anime. Though, I found the actual show absolutely hysterical.

May be stating the obvious here but isn'e Bleach supposed to mean the cleansing of souls like the detergent Bleach.

Either way when it comes to having to do with the storyline then Luck star is the worst. I don't see how it fits with the overall situation of the show.

When it comes to just being a bad title im going with Naruto.
It's a fecking ramen topping.

Bobobo-bobo-bo...bo..bobo *falls asleep*

Eureka Seven- I get the Eureka part, but not the seven @_@

Fafner - It sounds weird saying it out loud

Kiddy Grade - Haven't watched it all completely so I don't know if they explained that. But the title doesn't make me think of fighting in space.

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Ironhanihoheto - I couldn't even spell it without looking it up

Canary. What? Was there any possible sense in that?

5 Centimeters per Second. As great as a symbolism the title is, every time I recommend this anime people think it's hentai.

o1. full metal panic? fumoffu! ~ what's a fumoffu??

o2. furikuri ~ i don't have that much of a problem with the name as it is, but i hate that it is called "fooly cooly". it's not fuurikuuri, it's furikuri, which means it would make more sense to be "flicli". "flcl" in my opinion is a much more accurate name.

The name "Fumoffu" is the sound made by Bonta-kun, a fictional mascot in the series who resembles a giant yellow teddy bear. During the series Sousuke designs and places into production heavily modified Bonta-kun suits for the purpose of aiding in tactical situations. Except for only being able to move at normal walking or running speeds for a human, the suit is essentially a miniature Arm Slave - however, the suit's "voice changer" renders all speech into either "Fu", "Mo", "Ffu", or "Ru", and the F.M.M.F.O. OS will immediately crash if the pilot tries to deactivate it (as referenced in Episode 10). This results in Kaname needing to act as a translator via headset radio if Sousuke needs to make himself understood.
So basically, it comes down to the name of the anime named after sounds a huge robot bear makes. Still weird.

initial D always made sense to me.
in a feint drift, there's actually 2 drifts involved. the first one (or initial drift) swings the car out to the oposite direction (slides the car to the left for a right hand turn) the second drift, then swings the car into the turn, using the inertia of that first drift to make the car slide even further. In rally terms it's called a Scandinavian Flick.

so it could be in reference to that haha.

here's what it's like

turn goes like this
L
so first you turn the car like this:

/
then you swing the car like this:

\

and the inertia causes the car to change it's direction even faster.
like this one XP

sorry i'm rambling and i'm bored.

It's not so much a bad title as an *unimaginative* one I suppose.

Princess Tutu & Fantastic Children

Both wonderful series that suffer from unfortunate titles. Well at least Princess Tutu is starting to spread from word of mouth.

There was this anime short movie Cat Soup or something else involving cats and soups. I remember it being weird, then again I can't remember ever watching it 0_o.

Of course, at the moment i read the title, I knew I had to watch it- nobody would really make an anime about boiling cats for culinary pleasure.

...

Would they?

Worst title? Probably BLEACH. I mean, BLEACH?! No characters were named Bleach, no special weapons had to do with bleach, and it doesn't involve whiting detergent at all! I mean, what?

Kanon is apparently Pachelbel's Kanon dur D, but I'm basing that off of wikipedia, though I had some thoughts of Canon when I first watched the series.
Like others have mentioned, Kanon is certainly a reference to Pachelbel's Kanon/Canon, though "Canon" was also an influence on the name.

The musical term "canon" makes a LOT of sense, just like "Da Capo", "AIR", "CLANNAD", and "Sola" do for their respective series. Pachelbel's Kanon also plays a significant role, and it's played various times throughout the series.

I couldn't help but think something along the lines of Fantastic 4 whenever i read it Boy, was i wrong and the anime now ranks among my all time favorites. I still have no idea why they came up with such a name though, as it certainly is not referring to anything within the series (while remotely making sense) nor is it representative of the theme.
