I think.... the one that cursed him are both Alice and Rob
I could imagine several tragedy plots including that actually Alice and Rob already died and bounded to the estate that the Duke currently resides

which means if Duke returned to the main estate, Alice and Rob would disappear

Please don't make it like that.. it would be too sad

From what we've seen it can't be Alice. Her interaction with the Dulles during sabbath pretty much confirms that she doesn't know who put a curse on Duke.

My thought is that Alice's mother is the one behind the duke curse.
