There was a conflict of interests regarding that tunnel and the solution was to marry Kachiya. At first MC asked El to marry her (wth)(MC did it too with Katalina wth) but refused and reluctantly marry her after defeating her in combat.

Depend on what you expect, Kachiya doesn't have a big role (same goes for other wives) she often accompany Vel and act like his bodyguard most of time. Unlike other wives,she always calls Vel "danna"
