Another from Funa. Hope they work a little harder on this than they did with Make My Abilities Average.
Also, just FYI, this isn't a standard Isekai from what I'd read, and the description above is misleading. She doesn't die, for one thing. She falls off a cliff and as she falls she accidentally grabs a passing energy being that has the ability to travel between worlds, pulling off a part of it and making that a part of herself. Thanks to that, she now has the power to travel between worlds and goes back and forth. I'm not sure whether we're talking travel between universes or just travel between planets, but either way for her it's like going from one room to another. Have you read the LN? The stuff they cut was almost offensive to me. Especially what they did to Pauline, they completely wrecked her character. It was OK in the later portions, but the first few episodes were awful. Thus my wish that this do a bit better.

A scenario where someone can pass between Earth and another world has a lot of potential. But I've got to say the summary doesn't make it seem like this will be the one to take advantage of it.
So her plan is to create chaos with modern weaponry in another world and get rich? That is technically a plot. I'm sure there's something to it since it got popular enough for an anime adaptation though.

Whoever wrote the summary seems to be someone who just saw select passages/images of the story and just strung together a summary based off that.

I really liked that they addressed Mitsuha being unable to speak the language, something a lot of isekai gloss over unless that's specifically the lead's superpower.
She was making some level of progress with Collette too before she ordered up the cheat power. Her healing follows up the same theme, the author winking at the audience and admitting it is there for plot convenience and expediency. We got a thorough explanation of how she stole the powers to begin with, which was also nice. |

This doesn't feel like something I'll keep up with. It wasn't bad or anything, just kinda boring. Fukuyama playing the NEET brother was kinda a hoot; I felt both entertained and annoyed at the same time which means he's doing a good job I guess . I'll stick around and see if it gets more interesting for me, but I wouldnt' be surprised if I cut it off by next ep.
Side note: missed so many upskirt opportunities.... Sure I get its not that kind of show, but they just did not want to show the panties. ..... What? I just came from Futoku no Guild, DON'T JUDGE ME!

Pretty good so far, far better than the last FUNA. And all I caught that they snipped was the being telling her that jumping worlds would be as easy to her as walking to another world, and the reason she fell in the first place (some scumbags saw her and even though they thought she was a junior high student still decided to try and hit on her; when she resisted they pushed her, not expecting the railing to break).
FUNA does seem a surprisingly skilled author compared to some modern LN authors. Her (I thing FUNA's a woman, kind of hard to tell since LN authors go for so much anonymity) beginnings are a lot more together than some I've seen. And I love the hand-waves, especially for language. I remember in Potions, it had the girl ask to be able to understand any and every language, and she found herself leaning on a tree dumbfounded after she asked a squirrel for directions. |
