OH! Looking good. Not the most amazing animation, but at least not s**t-tier. Glad they went for a more serious trailer after the 1st, more comedic, one.

Well ep 1 dropped today. Really enjoyed the beginning episode =03. Extremely fun characters. Vermilio is an absolute blast; the VA does an excellent job at portraying the character. I don't think it could get any better, going from how I expected to sound like knowing her personality from reading the manga. Not much about Helck, but they have showed he has some dark elements that are in contrast to his brighter demeanor. Konishi works his magic here as well. He's good for being able to do comically light voices as well as deep, serious ones, so he brings out the best in Helck's character.

Animation was good; I like the style, and the action showed enough detail(assuming budget isn't super great or anything) that makes me anticipate what may come.

Favorite moment was certainly the cards being blown away. Just the way it happened, making everyone shocked, and yet, that one guy(Kenros) came up with the idea that it was all part of the rules and had a bigger purpose just made it funnier .

Vermilio in pigtails and glasses looked super cute =03. More of this please.

For me, a strong start to this series. Even though I'm a manga reader, I thoroughly enjoyed this first ep, as if I was reading the manga all over again. Hopefully, it'll have enough episodes to get through the entire series.

My first thought: Oh, wow, it's the God Emperor of Mankind!

Then he goes "Let's destroy all humans!" and, erm, yeah. ^^

Then the card stacking scene came around and, yes, he clearly is the Man Emperor of Demonkind!

I loved the petty humor of the demon tournament balanced against the building dread of three completely empty human cities and the reveal that:

1. The Demon Realm/World consists of 15 nations total, all ruled by a single Demon Emperor. The Four Heavenly Kings help to govern the land and uphold public order. The Empire has been prospering for thousands of years thanks to them.
2. Humans, in contrast, are a much younger race with a shorter history and are seen as typically being very weak with small land and armies alike. However, Heroes are occasionally born who are the exception to the rule with Cless having managed to kill the Demon Lord in the castle between them and the Human Realm, making it the first time in 225 Years.
3. The Demons could probably eradicate them if they could send their forces to do so, but there’s another force present to the North that requires the majority of their troops and they can’t spare the manpower.

fun start and helck has so much charisma but of course the ikemen brother was the actual hero, let's see the story about them.

The premise is fun, and this had a lot more mystery than I expected from it. First episode did a really good job piquing my interest.

I was extremely confused why the assistant told the girl the Demon Lord sacrificed himself to help the demons escape from the Angels since there was a tournament going on to choose the next Demon Lord. That clears things up.

Yeah, thinking about it now, they maybe should have showed the actual hierarchy, like in the manga(iirc, there was an actual chart), especially given the nomenclature used is different from the usual. So many shows use the term "Demon Lord", and that usually means the top dog, the one who controls all of the demon army, yet here, the hierarchy of the demon lord is rather lower in the pecking order(Demon Emperor > 4 Emperor Kings > 4 Heavenly Kings(Vermilio is this level) > Demon Lord). Maybe they'll mention it in a later episode, but it would have been useful to know now, given how many demon lord-centered shows have released between this manga's creation and this TV series. People won't know where the strength of "demon lord" stand.

Still, a minor bobble that may not make any difference in the end.

Sort of curious how the pacing will be since this seems like its going to be a full adaptation but this is a watch no matter what. First episode was definitely solid.
