Well after 3 weeks since the last subbed episode I gave up and went to check out the final 3 episodes on a blog. I agree that the ending was a little bit open but after seeing some endings that are really laid out and I didn't like this wasn't too bad.

Though there are a ton of things you really have to wonder about. It'd be interesting if they did do some sort of continuation though, I'm not surprised that the merchandise sales haven't gone great.

Hey there, everyone.

I was interested in this series when it first started airing, but didn't start watching it. I've remembered about it all this time, though, and now that it seems many of you have watched it to the end, I'll probably be able to get some solid reviews. Therefore, my question is, quite simply - do you or do you not recommend it? Why or why not?

Thanks to those of you who feel like answering.

I'll be honest and say you have to be patient with ZEGAPAIN. It takes its time and initially you might be discouraged by the battle of the week format for the first few episodes. Where it shines is away from the mecha in the characters, the trio of Kyo, Ryoko and Shizuno carry the show with the various twists and turns of the plot. Ryoko is especially worthy of mention as she gradually moves centre stage over the course of the show. For me personally the best moments involve Ryoko and Kyo.

It's actually quite an intimate story, based around a small set of likeable characters that makes the developments feel all that more bleak because you feel for what they've had to come to terms with. I'm skirting the spoilers for obvious reasons, but you genuinely feel for Kyo as he begins to understand and accept what's happened to the world and steps out of the 'ganbare' hero cliche to become a more developed character.

Technically it is a good effort by Sunrise. The animation is solid, and I had no real complaints in this department. One or two episodes dropped the quality on occasion but over all it is pretty consistent. The CG mecha and its kit-friendly design takes some getting used to, but actually is pretty effective in the bigger battles. Music was especially good, I recommend the soundtrack if you can lay your hands on it. The OP by Akino Arai is particularly wondrous.

Give it 6 or 7 episodes and I'm sure you'll be hooked.

The two last episodes have not been subbed yet. Megami-Anime are working on it. As with all delayed subs, patience is a good thing.

Does anyone have the creditless OP/ED (the main ones) by chance, or know where I might find them?

Patience is one thing but this is scary!
Megami hasn't pumped out a new Zega episode in over a month...

Only three more episodes left
I'm so sad!

Even though I feel no better about having to wait, but being that we now have an actual explanation and not feeling like we've been abandoned I can no longer be irate.

Hopefully this won't get licensed, I don't want to wait THAT long!

I understand you guys are a very busy but could you at least tell us the release date, to give us an indication of how much longer we'll have to wait? It's been over 2 months. Please it's only 3 eps to go!

If you read the latest announcement on their forum, it says that they've started up again on it and the last 3 episodes should be expected very soon.

Kudos to the folks at Megami for not sitting on their hands.
Apologies to the folks at Megami for such impatience.
