Cloverfield (01-18-08)
This seems to be an awesome movie people. It hasn't been released yet but the date 01-18-08 is the release date. Paramount is doing when hell of a campaign. This was a trailer that was first scene in Transformer. Look it up on wiki but it seems to be one hell of a movie. Also, the site Slusho.jp gives clues to the movie.

It's Cthulhu (pronounced Ka-too-loo). The mythological omnipotent being conceived by early 20th century author H.P. Lovecraft. At first I was thinking maybe the movie was a tie-in to the Lost TV series, considering it's directed by J.J. Abrams. But then again, there are also theories that the Island in Lost is none other than the one where Cthulhu lies in slumber, waiting to awaken one day to wreck havoc. I must admit I've not read any Lovecraft, most of the facts I've obtained from the ever resourceful wikipedia.

I can definitely see the Lost connection, especially with the humming from an unknown source. This is actually the first time I've managed to see the trailer since I didn't watch Transformers yet and it was removed from YouTube before. It does look interesting.

Well, we'll see its charm for the next year. Hey, maybe they will make a better trailer for it too
I found this picture in wikipedia.... --> Sorry, it's too small and I can't find a bigger image.

Agreed... two hours of "Blair-thulhu" and I'm not even going to walk into the theatre. The handheld arty cam look died years ago for me as a lame excuse. Properly used in limited ways it can be quite wonderful.... but a whole movie? bleh...
Hopefully this is not the case.
