Even as Yakou Harutora couldn't get the job done? Or, perhaps, that's as far as any sorcery can get? Maybe the reason he told Natsume they'd meet again "some day" is because he's off to find some way to actually bring her back to life, without needing to rely on an external life source.
Anyhow, if I understand correctly, Natsume is basically "living" by using Hokuto as her life source, right?

Either way, I'm surprised there's not much info on HaruYakou. I would have expected him to be the focus of this volume. I really wanted to know if he was full Yakou (in terms of personality) with some vestiges of Harutora, or if he's just Harutora who simply acted uncharacteristically cold in volume 9, or maybe he's not a mix of both.

Reading the 2ch thread it seems some fans are angry at Harutora, haha.

Anyhow, what I'm getting from those threads is:

- Harutora's behaviour has been rather erratic. At times he acts as what fans at 2ch say might be Yakou's personality, but at other times he's the usual Bakatora. Some of them even think there might be no difference between Yakou and Harutora other than the name and that they have always been one and the same (i.e. Yakou was exactly like Harutora back in his time - though by the time he died he was older, more knowledgeable, more experienced and lived a rather dangerous life. So, Harutora's awakening might have been nothing but him recovering old memories of his, rather than becoming someone else. Of course, recovering old memories resulted in a considerable change in his behaviour, but he's still the same person.

- As it's been mentioned Natsume's revival wasn't precisely perfect, as she's relying on Hokutou as her life energy. So, she's like an undead. Some people in 2ch say she might be a Shikigami now.

- The reason why some fans at 2ch are angry at Harutora is because it seems he's been acting flirty toward Hishamaru (Kon), and this apparently made Natsume cry.

^Which one? The ones I remember are Hishamaru (Kon) and Kakugyouki (guy with one arm).

Anyway, rereading the spoiler threads in 2ch:

Many are saying Harutora is triggering "last boss" flags it isn't even funny.
It seems he went a wrecked some place(s?) retrieving things that belonged to him in his previous life. He said it was okay since it was stuff that belong to him in the first place anyway.
What people at 2ch are wondering is if what Harutora is doing is for Natsume's sake or related to something concerning his previous life (i.e. Yakou business).
There's also speculation on why Harutora won't meet Natsume, but I haven't read anything solid on that (someone even made a reference to Izanagi and Izanami), so I won't comment on that.

The word they used in the book is なまなり instead of せいせい so it's closer to the incomplete sense; in the story, however, Asano's using that term as a collective phrase to describe the condition exactly like Touji's except with non-demons as well. Makes you kinda wonder what shaman/possession stuff's related to rabbits.

At least she has Akino to cheer her up.

Some of them are saying they get the impression that Natsume is the MC now, whilst Harutora is like that guy from Shakugan no Shana when he became one with the Snake.

That analogy is pretty accurate. Has it been explained what Harutora's been planning and why he won't see Natsume? And where are his friends in all this?

Sounds like some overreactions to some minor teasing to me. It's pretty obvious Haru won't ever cross that line, not after everything he's done for Natsume (and her for him).
