One believable theory around is that, considering there is no value in what Kadokawa did, that the franchise was caught up in an internal battle. After all, Kadokawa is so big (and corrupt), so it isn't a surprise if there are factions inside of it

I think the idea was that 12.1 was done without approval. But again that was speculation based on information from the first day, I have not kept up to date on whats people have been saying or digging up since then.

I am starting to think it's really a victim of internal politics. And one that Kadokawa will just casually brush aside regardless of the outcome because they are rich and monolithic with KF being just another expendable project to them

Marathoned 1-5 today:

1: Serval stalking a new friend. Hippo teaching Kaban-chan to learn to protect herself. Well, that's basic survival if you're in the wild. Are those ceruleans some sort of alien monster?

2: I notice that the animals they meet are mostly kind. That Otter and Jaguar did some work for them. Serval strong to carry that piece of bus.

3: A cafe on top of the hill. Once again helpful animals, the Crested Ibis who carry Kaban-chan and the Alpaca who has a cafe on top the hill. Battery charged!

4: Sand cat and a tsundere Tsuchinoko. Didn't expect this show to even have a cryptid. Letting those ceruleans in reminded me of zombies getting into a house. Scary chase. Good thing the cryptid knew where to go.

5: Beaver and Praire dog make a good team! Oh, and both Kaban-chan and Serval's first kiss have both been taken... by Prairie dog. xD

Watched episode 6-12:

Nice, Serval cannot resist not following Kaban-chan into the ocean. And some other Friends seem to have come along. they have plenty of supplies anyway. ^^

And it's nice Serval and the others followed. Kaban would have been stuck in the ocean with that empty battery if they did not follow her.

Looking forward to season 2!
