As a fan of season 1 i have to say i was disappointed in this, it felt like they had very little budget to work with, the animation didn't look good.

good first episode. the first part was confusing, with the kinda spinooff vibe.

some part of the animation was really off, namely when they run from the dragon cave to the dark side, it felt like the ep was laging with the runing being at like 5 fps.
alice hair too have like no depth, it's like its painted on her head.

i like the fact that it try to close the gap between the tech of sao and the one of accel world with the STL accelerating their inner time.

Glad that the series is back again I was looking forward to it. The first part was indeed kinda confusing but a good episode all together. Asuna and Kirito moment before that creep showed up was really good. That cliffhanger though at the end....

Spoiler for Episode 1 Comments/Feeedback:

I don't read the LN or manga's but I play the video games so I know a little bit about Alice & Eugeo from their appearances in them.

I'm not sure what the hell Alice was thinking when she saw the black knight dying, either way she touched the dark side because of it and did something she's not supposed to do.

I wonder what was happening to Eugeo when Alice was taking away, guess we will learn more about his eyes another time.

Nice to see everyone playing GGO together though it's not all fun and games like that situation, I wonder if that's another laughing coffin group or just a really dangerous pk group.

I was also kinda confused by what Kirito was saying but it's interesting how he talked about losing his memory after diving in that world but did remember something when they spoke about Alice.

That freak from laughing coffin definitely had a few screws loose, I hope Kirito is going to be alright.

I'm glad to see characters like Sinon return honestly. She's one of my favorite characters in the franchise. They'll definitely need to flesh out the story a bit more but it's at least 2-cour for this season so there's definitely time for that.

Oh and Alice is cute as heck.

I hate SAO, but I'm grateful to the show for the NTR doujins we'll get.

On another note, I heard of BL vibes between Eugeo and Kirito. After seeing the opening, I can see how fans might get that. That scene with them swinging their swords in sync and attacking a knight is reminiscent of Kirito and Asuna fighting a boss in the first opening. I may hate this series, but even I can appreciate their cool handshake and the nice walking off to the distance.

+ If they 'converted' an account to GGO who is 'watching' all their gear back in ALO
+ How the heck did they 'keep' their avatars which more or less reflect their RL selves

As fun as the cameo was it has to disregard prior established plot limitations (short of insane odds of achieving that outcome by coincidence)

kirito probably hacked it for them, he cheat enough already it's not much

I can see why they made the first episode a double episode. The first half was really boring.

Leafa or Agil could have held their gear.

The avatar appearance must have been artistic license.

Go back to episode 1 season 1. The system was originally designed in a way that meant people would need to measure themselves to get an accurate virtual avatar of their real life selves. That was part of the whole point of SAO as created by Akihiko Kayaba so it's not surprising that the ability to have avatars like that would still exist.

At least that's the way I justify it to myself

Agil or some random friend can always have their stuff for now.
As for the second point, it's honestly just the character designers being lazy. They SHOULD all have new unique avatars (except Kirito and Sinon who already had GGO avatars), but they don't want to bother with new designs for a single episode, I guess. Dunno.
There's no given reason from the LN that could explain this.
It's the same as how Kirito in ALO looks really similar to his SAO avatar (and thus his real self). They're doing that for the viewer's benefit, but we're to believe they look different, or something.

I'd say it's a necessary device considering the trouble Kirito gets himself into. He's a harem protagonist that mostly grows his harem after hooking up with his main girl .

Going to presume that won't last though. Seems like they are setting Kirito to be saved by the guy hitting about the same spot as that miniature sensor. Since Kirito obviously isn't going to die that thing will probably be damaged or destroyed by this attack.

Good eye. I was figuring the attack was going to be the impetus to keep him Japan testing Underworld instead of going to 'Murica.

I lol'd at the Asuna's tracking device, but given how much experience they have with being trapped and Kirito's continued sketchy involvements I can see why she'd want it.
