Ruka's one of the characters intro'd after the span that the second season covered, so she's always been kinda mysterious to me. Her role as simply "idol" (and "Greek chorus" in CTMEOY) didn't make too much of an impression, no matter how much music she made, but this episode is probably the first time I'm seeing her outside her idol life. Learning how to ride a bike, the stuff going on behind the scenes (961SP Buster? Eight's getting a lot more recurrence too). It was a nice, easy to watch episode, and Hayate got to be both in control and crossdressing again - all what I expect from this series. Since it's episodic, the two week break (thanks, table tennis) didn't affect it that much... but I still could've done without it.

At least there's Hamster next week. I've liked her since the first season.

It was a pretty good intro to Ruka, though naturally they focused entirely on the idol thing and not her...other hobbies. Granted, there could be a reason for that given the way the manga is going. Ah well.

I realized halfway through this episode that Ruka only ever had one filler story, and they used that for the first half.

It's nice to see Ruka getting her own episode.

I always knew Hayate had it in hm to be quite the S, poor Ruka.
I wonder if Hayate's male pride and dignity goes down after crossdressing ?

Seeing Hina in this episode was a higlight for me!

The star idol profession is a tough one, particularly if you don't know how to ride a bicycle.

If that's the case then you'll have to resort to the help of a debt-ridden butler.


In exchange, you can ask said butler to fill in the position of your troupe in case one of your backup dancer gets herself injured and cannot make it for tonight's big feature show.

Of course, said butler would have no choice but becoming a trap by dressing like a girl in a maid costume.
