Aria the Animation

I'll answer here to a question that seems to be bothering people. It's black and white because I needed to reduce the color count quite extremely to make it AS-safe and the colored version just looked absolutely awful.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I don't know if I should like the colored version more or not.
It's wellmade and I like both very much but I can't choose which one is the best.

Oh, I actually prefer the colored one. Though, the B & W version seems to have a bigger following at this point.

The quality of the colored one is "Hazukashii"!

^ You know nothing!

I vote for the coloured one.

The black and white one make is too dull...and what "Hazukashii" from Sacchin? The quality is as good as it can get (and the fact that the words ARIA look a bit pixilated adds to the effect of "waves").

So many replies... Thanks everybody!
Seems that B/W version is a bit ahead in the vote. I think I'll tweak it still. I'm not satisfied with the quality in either of the versions.

To keep the randomness random... Here are some photos.
Spoiler for photos:

Wide-angle lens shots! Oh man, I love wide angle lenses. Olympus is due to release a 9-18mm (18-36mm in 35mm film equiv) lens in late September, and I'm extremely tempted. If I had a spare $1,500 I'd get their 7-14mm lens, but that's beyond me... either way, I'm a big fan of wide angle stuff, and you made nice use of it in my opinion. You also have a nice starburst effect going on with many of the lights there. I forgot what impacts the burst effect, but I think it was shutter speed? Looks perfect.

Only point of interest, for that first image there's some flaring going on. It's artistic enough and doesn't get in the way of things, but that's the only drawback from some of the wide angle lenses, or so I hear - they're more prone to flaring than standard lenses. (I can see a bit of a flare in the last image, too - I don't really think a person can do much to get rid of the flaring, that's a tough one)

Is this your borrow system, or are you keeping that lens? If you're keeping it, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your shots with it - this batch was amazing!

Starburst effect is caused by diffraction which is conversely dependent on iris size. Smaller iris causes more diffraction. As it's inevitably quite small in extremely short lenses, they're by nature quite susceptible to it.

Wide angle lenses are indeed a bit more prone to flaring and the only thing that really can be done with it is quite frantic multi-coating of all the lens elements. (pricey pricey) I had an another shot similar to the fist one with less flaring but I actually kind of liked the flare.

Glad to tell that these were taken with my own camera body. I was concerned about hot pixeling but it didn't really cause problems in the end. Maybe added a few stars on the sky, but so far I haven't received any complaints from astronomers that some star shouldn't be there.

The lens is borrowed and I won't be keeping it. There are some focusing issues that are somewhat visible in few of the pictures. Even as I like wide angle shots as well. Can't really see myself using it that extensively that I could rationalize the price, even as it's a relatively affordable one (Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 ~450€).

I'll probably be able to borrow it again if I need it and I still have until Wednesday to play around with it, for now. I have a day off tomorrow so I'll probably see what I can do with it in daytime.

I like your work, Escimo.
I wonder if you could do me an Jirayia signature, like from the manga when...
Spoiler for DONT CLICK IF YOU DONT READ THE MANGA!:

If not, then a Ichimaru Gin signature.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is the right guy. Dropped Bleach after 2 episodes.
And no I haven't read Naruto manga and dropped the anime some time ago, so don't really mind the spoilers.

Anyhow here's what I came up with.
